Game Thread #1 Ohio State vs. #8 Wisconsin, 2019 B1G Championship Game (Lucas Oil Stadium Dec 7 8:00 PM Fox)

Put in ticket request through OSU two weeks ago. Finally got the tickets today. They are in the Wisconsin section. What the heck OSU!? I don’t want to sit there. I’m rather pissed. Section 431. The whole reason I go through the OSU ticket office is to sit in the OSU section.

You'll be fine.

I was in the PSU student/band section down in AA by mistake this year with my wife and son.

Slightly annoying for a few minutes in the 3rd quarter. Other than that, they know what's coming.

I was also on the Wisconsin side in 14.

Sitting in Dulles airport waiting for my flight to that game a Wisconsin guy with his two kids sat across from me. He looked at me and said “you’re going a long way to see you team lose”. I just said “we’ll see”.

We’ll see again on Saturday. This time I won’t be there but we will see and then we will rejoice.
We sat next to some very nice Wisconsin people in '14. They chatted before the game, asked about the team and what to expect from Cardale.

They got up shortly before halftime. We didn't see them again.

Funny to hear how much Wisconsin has improved since our game due to starting 4 new guys ... only allowed 1 sack in last 3 games ... but those games were against powerful defenses of Nebraska, Purdue and Minnesota. Even we gave up 0 sasks to Nebraska and Nebraska had more sacks than Purdue or Minn for the year. They didn’t comment how OSU improved ... we gave up 4 sacks in 1st half of Wisc and only 1 in 2nd half (little sarcasm).

Yet, for those still worried (as Wisc played great games against Mich and Iowa) ...
Big 10 Teams (coaches vote .. defense and offense combined)
First Team 7 OSU ... 2 Wisc
2nd Team 4 OSU .... 2 Wisc
3rd Team 6 OSU .... 0 Wisc
They did though beat us 5 vs 8 on Honorable mention as we ran out of offensive players (10 players on first 3 teams)

Also AJ Taylor is out (although they use several WRs/TE sets). 2 other are questionable .. Moorman and Wildgoose.

For those interested, BigTen will reshow game at 11 tomorrow.

The big issue is Wisc makes good players out of 3 star athletes. They need to as they only have 1 5-star recruit and 8 4-star in last 4 years. The least we have in past 4 years is 3 5-star and 9 4-star last year (not counting Fields).

Going through roster, only their TEs and LBs beat our guys (take JK over Taylor due to pass catching and elusiveness ... Taylor has speed and power to beat up weaker teams but so do we).

It will be closer than last time but analysts need to make it look more competitive to get anyone else to watch their shows.

Their LB and TEs aren't better IMO.

They have absolutely no advantage over us. I expect more fight from UW and sure we can lose this game. That said we shouldn't lose this game because we are better at every position.

What did Wisconsin learn from the game on Oct 26. Probably a lot. And they will have something different from both sides of Offense and Defense.
But I keep asking myself what did we learn from playing Wisconsin? That is where I am being puzzled. So maybe there is nothing for us to worry about. Just saying

I think Wiscy HC Paul Chryst told the whole story in just a few words at his press conference this week. Something to the effect of: This game is made up of individual matchups; You have to win your share of them.

You know what Chryst and the Badgers learned on 10/26? They learned that they are losing the individual matchups up and down the LOS. They learned that they are losing the individual matchups out wide on both sides of the ball. They learned that their only chance is to play a high risk/high reward game and hope they catch an overconfident Buckeye team. Which is to say they learned they have no chance at all. That’s why Lucas Oil is projected to be 97% Buckeye on Saturday night.
