Game Thread #1 Ohio State vs. #8 Wisconsin, 2019 B1G Championship Game (Lucas Oil Stadium Dec 7 8:00 PM Fox)

Who’s the bigger traitor? The traitor, or the traitor who follows him? I guess is my point. Herbie wrote the book on being a fake Buckeye. Galloway is just following along.
Honestly, I could almost...almost look past the lazy, dollar sign opinions, but he needs to knock off reporting false things about amateur athletes at Ohio State as if he is plugged in to the Woody.

That stuff isn’t cool, at all.

Yep. I could look past being a corporate shill for the SEC, because he's paid handsomely to do it. But, the bullshit with "Tatgate", for which he never offered up a mea culpa, plus the Chase Young shit this year...he can go fuck himself with a rusty pipe wrench.

Re-watching the first half

OSU only had 4 possessions, was in position to score TD on 3 of 4 but only managed one. Fumble inside the 5 and missed Olave wide open in EZ.
That is the formula for both close game we saw at the end of the season, TO's/empty RZ trips.

Wisky was running play clock from the very first snap but got 5 possessions in. Scored 3 TD's out of the 5. Basically it was all on 2 long runs by Taylor and the drive where Coan ran it in. Fuller did not have the best first half of football in his career last night.

GTFO with this measured, reasonable assessment of a frustrating first half.

I want more childish hot takes that won't stand up to scrutiny two hours later.

second half drives

OSU: TD, FG, TD, FG, Punt
Wisky: Punt, missed FG, punt, punt, TO on downs, end of game

OSU only had 10 possessions in the game, the last one came at apoint in the game where scoring wasn't the primary objective so really, 9. Went 6 for 6 after starting 0-3.

Wisky had 11 possessions . The three punts in the 2nd half were all off 3 and outs. Their extended drives in the 2nd half were missed FG, TO on downs and end of game/end of Coan.
Hate to be picky, but there's 1 more Buckeye TD in there somewhere.

I'd just like to know what Day (and/or the other coaches) said to the team at halftime. I'm guessing that somebody in the locker room could make a fortune as a "motivational speaker".

I'm gonna share a story that I heard when I lived on South Campus in the fall of 1968.
One of the guys had fumbled the ball in the first half. At halftime, Woody dove over a pile of players in the locker room and started choking the player. He had to be pulled off of the guy.
Whatever's handy.

Maybe he has a porcupine handy. Just sayin'.

I was a student back then living on South Campus too (i. e. Smith Hall, which also housed many football players). I heard the same story from one of the players. The player who fumbled was Jim Otis and reportedly Woody threatened him with never playing in a game again. Let's just say that Otis did see the field again and went on to have a stellar football career both for Ohio State and in the NFL. Also the incident happened during the 1967 season. In 1968 Ohio Sate went 10-0 winning the National Championship with Otis being the team's leading rusher, etc.
