'10 FL S Marvin Robinson (Michigan signee; transfer to Ferris State University)

Scout.com: South Florida 7-7: The Safeties were Tops

Expectations were high, but Robinson proved he's worthy of the praise he's been receiving for over two years now. The first thing that stands out about Robinson is that he's fundamentally sound, and he always puts himself in a position to make a play on the ball. He kept everything in front of him, never allowing an opposing player behind him. Robinson even made a couple plays on the ball that he picked off for interceptions

From the Michigan site...will be attending Michigan's spring game along with Ricardo Miller and 2011 standout runningback Demetrius Hart...says his top four is the same but that Georgia and Alabama are on the rise.

Defensive back Marvin Robinson from Eagle Lake (Fla.) Lake Region may soon commit to Michigan. Robinson left on Thursday for Michigan, before returning home tonight. He attended Michigan's spring game on Saturday.

"It was wonderful," Robinson said. "Basically I liked the whole thing. I liked the fans, I talked to different recruits and the coaches, and I talked to the players on the team. Everything was wonderful."

Michigan sits at the top of Robinson's list, ahead of two schools that Robinson says have not offered a scholarship to this point, Georgia and Alabama.

"Michigan right now is definitely my leader," Robinson said. "After Michigan are Georgia and Alabama. Tennessee is next, then South Florida. I might decide during the spring. I could commit to Michigan in the next couple weeks."

Robinson plans to attend Florida?s spring game on Saturday.

Robinson has over a dozen scholarship offers including Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, South Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee and UCLA.

The Buckeyes offered Robinson very early, but he said on Sunday night that he has not spoken to anyone from Ohio State for about a month.

Marvin Robinson reminds me a little bit of Jamario O'Neal. He looked like he was in college as a sophomore and was great for his age. Came back and had a decent but not great junior year.

I think he's a guy that will remain ranked highly but I'm not convinced that he deserves it. I know the positions are different, but I prefer a guy like Duron Carter who is still growing into his body in high school as opposed to a guy who is already maxed out as a sophomore in HS.

IMO... Marvin is an all american linebacker, I just have a tough time seeing him playing safety in college.

Barring a surprise entry of Tulsa in his recruiting process, Michigan will probably end up with a solid player. As much as I would love to call him the next Jam-O, I don't think it's fair to quite categorize him as a "bust" even before his senior year.
Also, it sounds like he got his wish when he told the staff to stop recruiting him.
