I chatted a bit with Trae Golden yesterday. He's a very highly rated point guard in the 2010 class who preps at Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern. Trae led his team to a 23-4 record as a frosh and has grown to 6-2. Very, very promising recruit and a really neat kid. We did a profile on him recently that you can find if you pull down on the basketball stories menu.

Golden said he is planning to come to OSU for an unofficial visit on Oct. 20. He will attend the OSU-Michigan State homecoming game and get to watch the basketball team practice. He has some relatives on his father's side who intend to come down from Toledo to meet him at the football game.

Trae's father confirms to BG that his son has committed to Thad Matta and the Buckeyes.

And Trae sort of confirms that DeShaun is solid to OSU...

Trae tells Justin Young what lead him to end the process so early.

WOW. We done for '10?

First off, by Rivals count that is 3 5-stars on board...and the #3 (Thomas), #8 (Sullinger) and #10 (Golden) players in the country. Scout has Golden as a 4-star (but yet the #9 player in the country, so probably only 4-stars for the time being) and still doesn't show Thomas as committed to OSU (probably because Decker would quit if they did). Thomas is the #2 player per Scout and Sullinger is #7. Wright is probably top 3 in the state in '10.

As per OBJ, I think there could still be one more offer to open up if anyone were to leave early.

I wonder if that means Howard's offer is no longer on the table? He is the only other '10 kid that I know of that has an offer...
