'10 MI QB Robert Bolden (Penn State Signee - transfer to LSU)

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWmXe1w6XBk]YouTube - 2006 Mike Valenti Michigan St-Notre Dame rant Part 1[/ame] This Mike Valenti? Make Plays! Probably one of the funniest things I have ever heard come out of a Spartan fans mouth.

There is no disputing Bolden's interest in PSU was sudden and Boisture's abrupt turnaround to drop BC for MSU had something odd behind it. Coaches don't recruit player for that long and be in the lead, and have it all blow up in a week. The Bolden to PSU and Boisture to MSU all happened over a 3-4 day period.

You are seriously misinformed -- Bolden visited PSU back in April and loved it, and at the time said he had no problem competing with Paul Jones. Since then the reports have consistently placed PSU among his favorites, so there's nothing sudden about this.

Guess what -- schools recruit kids for a long time only to have it blow up in their faces all the time, and when that happens fans concoct all sorts of ridiculous "explanations" which get accepted as fact and repeated by those sharing their delusions. But the simple explanation is the kid just likes another place better.

The best part about this alternate reality of MSU fans is they believe that JoePa is so desperate to get Bolden that he'll offer his dad a job even though PSU got a top 10 QB in the last class and has another already committed for this class. But hey, if you like goofy theories so much, then this page will be right up your alley -- feel free to share with your Spartan buddies.

Take it for what is was worth.

As I said earlier, I thought you might have some interest in what was being said up here.

If that type of theory was that goofy, you wouldn't have people post in this thread that they have seen it happen where a players parent was given a job, it happens, and you know it does.

You can try and blame Valenti, but he isn't who I heard it from. I did hear later he did report it after I first heard of the rumor, and I heard today he took the post down off of his website, which obviously kills the credibility of the rumor.

I didn't make the stuff up, I only told you what was floating around up here. No different than what you post here that you get from other sources or message boards like we all do.

None of us are that connected to post everything as first hand information.

I agree. PSU would never offer a coaching position to an unqualified candidate for ulterior reasons.

and you believed it? Lord, the pucker pucker guy? His own university thinks he's an embarrassment. Listen I have close ties to the Orchard Lake staff, and they like this family and cannot believe these accusations against this family. I remember earlier in the week when Bolden didn't commit it was because he didn't want to compete against Andrew Maxwell, who is a nice QB, but he's no sure thing by a long shot. Now he didn't commit to MSU because his dad is a cheater.

Please, if the dad had his way the kid would go to Northwestern or Vanderbilt.

Union, Ive heard the same thing about Northwestern or Vanderblit being the Dad's choice. His dad wants him to get a solid education and PSU is a nice compromise.

Bam.

I seriously doubt Bolden's Dad would prefer Vandy or NW over some of the other schools after him. I don't think of Bolden Sr. is an education first kind of guy.

That being said, NW would be a good fit for Bolden ATHLETICALLY. I think he could thrive in that offense.

Do you know his dad?

I actually think Vandy would be a great choice. Obviously, VU offers a great education. However, that offense is built around QB draws, misdirection reverses, and quick slants. Also, VU has a RS Soph at QB in the same mold, whose exit would open plenty of room up for Mr. Bolden. Not to mention the ability to play in the 2nd best conference in all of CFB with the #1 ladies around. (Sorry...)

I hope he chooses VU. I could see him play! But I have no horses in this race... .

I don't fault him at all for being confident in himself. I, personally, just think that in the end it's going to be a dumb move on his part. I don't believe that he's going to be better than Newsome or Paul Jones.
