'10 OH DE Derrick Bryant (UCLA signee)

Not bashing the kid on his opinions and feelings towards tOSU/Michigan...but...apparently we don't have Tradition and one of the winningest programs in NCAA history at Ohio State?

Also, kinda funny how he says Michigan is his "dream school" and his mom says its Ohio State and Tressel. Gotta love moms :P
i think you have to look at the kid. im not sure he has enough of a history yet to sit here and say-hes always positivie, or hes blowing smoke or he really actually likes michigan etc.

things will play out, time will tell.

but UM has great traditions and they have more wins. so thats a non issue.

By A Trieu. Bryant says that he will no longer make an early commitment after talking to some coaches at UNC. West Virginia and Kentucky have offered, while FSU, Tennessee and North Carolina have been in contact. He has no problems going South.

From TheWolverine...plans to visit UM this weekend...still favors UM but is no longer thinking about making an early decision...talks about his interest at UNC and says he also will visit UC and UK...thinks UC, UK and Tennessee are all going to offer soon.

It sounds like Ohio State's slipping out of the picture, which is fine by be. I really don't see that much in Bryant. He sets the edge and uses his hands well, but he's not really quick or fast. He doesn't look like a 4.6 guy at all and I question his ability to succeed at a place like Ohio State based on his athleticism. He could be a good base end of for a FBS school, I just don't see him as a Ohio State material. Melvin Fellows does the same but is a lot more impressive. I think I like Darryl Baldwin more (than Bryant), although I need to see more film on him before I commit to that perspective.

DE Bryant interested in Pac-10 - ESPN

DE Bryant interested in Pac-10

Defensive end Derrick Bryant (Columbus, Ohio/Brookhaven) seems to have no hesitation about leaving the Midwest for the West Coast.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder is one of the top defensive linemen in the Buckeye State and has scholarship offers from Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, West Virginia, Kentucky, Michigan State and Kansas. However, if he gets a couple Pac-10 offers things could get really interesting.

"UCLA coach Todd Howard watched me at my track meet," Bryant said. "He was impressed with my speed. He has to talk to coach (Rich) Neuheisel, but he wants to offer me. An Oregon coach saw me in track. I might know in a couple weeks if they are going to offer. UCLA will be one of my official visits for sure. If Oregon offers, that will definitely be one of my visits."

Bryant feels a number of other schools might be on the verge of offering as well including Tennessee, Boston College and Notre Dame.

"Tennessee is evaluating me," Bryant said. "Boston College and Notre Dame want me to come to their camps. Purdue wants me to come to their camp too."

Bryant said he does not have a favorite at this point and plans to take most, if not all five of his official visits.

"I want to make sure I choose the right school," he said. "Each and every school has something to offer. My job is to find the school that is the best fit for me."

Mathis, Bryant narrow it down to six - ESPN

Ohio DE scheduling visits

Defensive end Derrick Bryant (Columbus, Ohio/Brookhaven) has narrowed his college choices down to a half dozen schools and he has scholarship offers from all six.

"Basically it is UCLA, Oregon, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas and West Virginia," Bryant said. "Those are basically the ones I'm looking at for visits."

Bryant plans to visit Kentucky on Sunday. He also has an official visit set to UCLA for the weekend of Sept. 20.

"I'm still in the process of setting up my other (official) visits," Bryant said. "I really don't have a favorite. I have to see the schools. I haven't been to most of them. Kentucky is the only one I've been to."
