Redhawk posted this in the watch thread:

Cincinnati Enquirer | Cincinnati High School Sports | Cincinnati.Com

Wyoming coach Bernie Barre said Ohio State plans to be in this week at the high school to visit Wyoming junior DL Jibreel Black.

Barre was inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Friday in Columbus. That's where Barre introduced Black to Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel and defensive coordinator Jim Heacock.

"They have not offered yet, but if would not surprise me if they do offer," Barre said of Ohio State.

From earlier:

Wyoming football coach Bernie Barre said in an e-mail today that South Florida could be the next school to offer Wyoming junior DL Jibreel Black (6-2, 260).

"Joe Tresey (former UC defensive coordinator) called and told me that they want to offer," Barre said.

Black has offers from Purdue, South Carolina, North Carolina State, Miami University, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ball State, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, UC, West Virginia, Ohio University, Michigan State and Bowling Green.

I for one am glad to see Black not flying under OSU's radar anymore. As wad said, alot of other schools have been in pursuit for awhile. Good to see his coach do some campaigning for him. From this point on I will be at ease that if OSU passes, it will be that they have higher targets, or another direction in mind. If Black isn't offered, it won't be because he simply slipped through the net.

OSU coaches were in to see Black and plan on going back in a couple of weeks...Black thinks OSU and PSU could be close to offering.

Does the BPRT believe he will receive an offer and is there a feeling he could commit? Seems like an intriguing prospect at a position of need.

Have no idea but when you look at it realistically, the odds are against it. I don't mean to sound like BK but lately my thinking has been more kids are not offered by OSU than are and the variance between the two is a wide margin. It's just the way of the world. If Black gets an offer, which certainly could happen, I think it will be at camp but that is nothing more than a hunch. The staff could go back in two weeks and tell him they are offering for all I know.

As to where he is leaning, I've never heard him talk about any school with the exception of Indiana where his brother is. You have to guess an OSU offer at least vaults them into top consideration but again that is just a hunch on my part and based more on the law of averages. Ohio kids who get an OSU offer typically move OSU to the top of their list more often than not.

Well, down at the Scout.com combine in Cincinnati, I talked to him for about a half an hour. Granted, it wasn't all about recruiting, it was more about pass rushing techniques and him talking about how southern Ohio is the best in Ohio.I did happen to talk to him about picking the right situation for him and how he fits in (college wise), and he did mention tOSU and had a big smile. I like this kid, regardless of where he goes,I will definitely keep up with him.

From the Michigan site...says that by the end of May he should have a top five...says that Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Cincinnati, South Florida and Wisconsin have a good chance of being on the list...he will be in attendance May 30 at Michigan for the BBQ at the Big House.
