'10 OH OL Skyler Schofner (Michigan State signee)

Is there anybody else that OSU is looking at for OL behind Henderson and James besides Schofner? I hope you guys get one of Henderson/James so that MSU can pick up Schofner

Brandon Linder and Chaz Green (both OL out of Florida) also have offers from OSU. Both don't appear to have OSU leading right now but they will be here on official visits for the USC game.

There are three others, that haven't already committed somewhere, with significant enough mutual interest in OSU to have a thread here; Schofner, Eric Franklin and Ben Buzeli.

Is MSU still recruiting Franklin? Do you have him as a priority too?

We're still recruiting Franklin but he's not making any visits until after the season so I don't know how far up his list we are. It looks like we're only going to take one more OL and it seems the staff is putting a lot of effort into Schofner.

Scout $ - Schofner Takes In OSU Game

9/13

By Jardy...talks about how his contact with the OSU staff has fluctuated from constant to sparse throughout the recruiting process...talks about how if he decides and gets a late offer from OSU it would not be enough for him to decommit.

Ohio stars to visit Kentucky

...

Senior offensive lineman Skyler Schofner (Sunbury, Ohio/Big Walnut) will be in Lexington on an unofficial visit.
The 6-7, 280-pound Schofner has close to two dozen scholarship offers. His list includes Kentucky, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan State and Indiana.
Schofner says he will likely take at least one or two official visits before selecting a college, but has not scheduled any of his trips.

Skyler did a great job. There were plays that he literally pushed his guy 15 yds back of the line of scrimmage. He is huge. They ran on his side the whole night. Orange had 4 turnovers in the first 17 minutes.....pretty much took themselves right out of the game.

Schofner is planning officials to Wisconsin and UNC. Ohio State is the only school he's still considering that hasn't offered.

Recruiting is, and will remain, in the back of Skyler Schofner?s mind. That, though, hasn?t stopped him from mulling over potential official visit destinations.

My school, Delaware Hayes takes on Big Walnut tomorow night.

It should be a great game, as it is our homecoming game and should play a huge factor in who wins the OCC capital championship. The game will also have large implecations on the playoff race.

It should be a great game and I'll be watching Skyler and post my thoughts here sometime after the game.

Well, we got the W. :biggrin2::groove2:

Skyler played well from what I saw. Big Nut only had about 160 yds, so they definetly did not move the ball very well. I can't really fully examine how Skyler did 'till I watch the film tomorow, though. The Eagles definetly favored his side when runnin the ball. Great win for us, if I may say so myself.

Oh btw, i had 3 tackles.

These situations are funny to me. I like to hear that the coaches have been keeping in touch because I think Schofner would be a good player to get. But at the same time, lack of talk from the OSU coaches might mean they're liking their chances with Henderson, James, etc.

I'm in the "we need more OL" camp though so I'd rather see Schofner with an offer already if he's next on the board and then have the "problem" of possibly ending up with one more OL than the coaches think is ideal. I guess the exception would be if the coaches think having another linemen committed may sway James' (or others) decision. Just thinking out loud...
