Canton South is a very small school, it's kinda amazing to me that they have produced more tOSU type recruits in the last few years, than say Canton McKinley.
most parents try to escape canton and I don't blame them. When I was growing up McKinley and massillon were the only teams in stark county that were great in football. Now they can't even make the top 5 in Stark county.:) Glenoak this year got me thinking. wow

Canton South junior receives scholarship offer from Michigan

CANTON TWP. ?
The University of Michigan has one Stark County football star in the bag and is sniffing around for more.

According to Canton South head coach Moe Daniska, Michigan has formally offered wide receiver-safety Jerald Robinson a full-ride football scholarship. Robinson is honored by the offer, Daniska said, but is weighing interest from other major-college programs, including Ohio State.

Michigan signed Massillon senior J.T. Turner earlier this week. The Wolverines have turned their attention toward early signings of top juniors, such as Robinson.

Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez offered Robinson a full ride after talking to Daniska on Tuesday.

?I told him Jerald is a great kid,? Daniska said. ?He?d always been more a basketball kid, but he became a great leader on our football team last season.

?They really love him as an athlete, either as a receiver who will go up and fight for the ball, or as a defensive guy who will come up and fill on the run.?

Daniska said Michigan is intent on signing some key Ohio players. The fact the Wolverines were the first college to offer Robinson a full ride is an indication they are serious.

Robinson helped South to last autumn?s playoffs and starts for the basketball team.
