Does anyone else find it odd that Auburn is nabbing kids that weren't even listing them prior to the commitment? First Westerman now Turene... they must have a doozy of a 'pitch' to give these kids.

Turene isn't committed to Auburn; the title of the article is referencing Marcus Roberson.

Turene wasn't the one who committed to Auburn as the title says. That was a CB from FL (Roberson). Turene just stated his commitment is open and not a soft verbal to USC.

Dude, why do you cheer for two teams?

I can't answer for him, but some people have more than one alma mater. Some folks can also root for a school because of a place in which they lived for many years but attended another school. You don't think every fan in Ohio stadium on Saturdays went to Ohio State do you?

In short, there are a multitude of reasons to root for multiple teams and of course my paragraph above is not inclusive of all of them.

BTW, were not stupid. We know what kind of stuff is going on down there.
Everyone in my family likes Auburn, and I live in central Ohio so the love for OSU comes naturally. And I never tried to deny "stuff going on down there" other than Turene committing to Auburn.

According to the AJC: UGA's drama-filled recruiting journey with Turene is over, with the 4-star LB prospect from Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., headed elsewhere. Flashback: Turene was committed to USC for six months before switching to UGA last February. The Bulldogs had high hopes for Turene, but his admission was held up by the NCAA Clearinghouse. Turene enrolled this fall at Atlanta Sports Academy, a prep school in Dawsonville, while waiting for the situation to be resolved. It never was, with Turene opting to go to Marshall in January as a Prop 48 student. Turene told UGASport.com's Anthony Dasher that he recently took some night classes that were not approved by the NCAA: "They said my school had a bad history with Internet classes and things like that, so I just came to the decision that I'd go Prop 48."
