I Have For You A Very Exciting Opportunity… | Eleven Warriors

The profile player of this week, however, is presently (to my knowledge) mostly off Ohio State's radar,. Given the weekend wide receiver AJ Sebastiano (Rivals) had at the South Florida Express seven-on-seven tryout a few weeks back, perhaps it's time to re-evaluate our options. The receiver from diminutive North Broward was said to be virtually uncoverable in the competition and will be suiting up against the best talent the state has to offer next month.

The kid's ability to make plays in narrow spaces while running pristine route after route reminds me a lot of a cross between Anthony Gonzalez and Brian Robiskie. The surprising quickness after the catch doesn't hurt to boot. Plus apparently his nick name is "Cinco". No way there's a downside to that.

Thanks to Smith/cjs100 for the find...apparently this kid is tight with Jeremy Cash and could be visiting for the spring game....

Andy Staples: With class of 2010 signed, time to start talking about class of 2011
From 2/9/10

At the Miami Beach tryout, Plantation (Fla.) High safety Jeremy Cash stood on the sideline. Cash, who has already received offers from Florida State, Miami, North Carolina and Ohio State, had decided not to try out for the Express, but he wanted to scout his competition for scholarship offers. "If you want a story," Cash said, pointing at a one-on-one pass coverage drill a few feet away, "write about him."

Cash had singled out a receiver who wore a backward cap bearing the word "Cinco." Cash explained that in the time he had watched the drill, no defender had successfully covered the kid with the backward cap. After a while, the defensive backs had to resort to tactics that would draw a pass interference call because they couldn't keep backward cap from getting open. Backward cap's name is A.J. Sebastiano. The receiver from tiny North Broward Prep in Coconut Creek, Fla., is nicknamed Cinco because he wears No. 5.

No one knew Sebastiano going into the tryout. By the end, he had made the team. Next month, he'll play in Tampa against the best skill position players in the South. If he plays well, the recruiting service reporters at the event will spread his name far and wide, and interest from colleges will pour in.

"At North Broward Prep, we're only Class 2B; we don't have many big names," said Sebastiano, who might be the only Class of 2011 recruit who has Bob Seger playing on his YouTube highlight video. "But I feel like coming out here, it's a diamond-in-the-rough effect. I feel like I can play with the best of them."

As the year goes on, we'll find out how Sebastiano stacks up against the rest of the stars in the class of 2011.

Why do u think he's the ideal replacement for Dane, instead of say Shane Wynn? Just asking. I like Cinco's game, but I thought he'd be on the outside
HAHA because they have the same skin color... Me and one of by buddies (who is black) talk about this all the time. People ALWAYS compare white players to white players and black playes to black players. For example, this morning, Mel Kiper said that Jordan Shipley reminded him of Wes Welker. When Gonzo was drafted, he was compard to Brandon Stokely. If you guys can come up with a good comparison of 2 players of different races, let me know so I can let my buddy know. We are stumped!

I was thinking Dane as well, because I think they look alike when they run.

Not really. Moreso in that he's not a big guy, he is a tremendous route runner, and has excellent hands. Seems like an ideal guy for the slot.

I have no idea what role Wynn will serve at this point in time at Ohio State. He is considerably smaller than receivers we've used in the past, even if you are talking about the slot position.

In regards to your white guys being compared to other white guys. Comparisons when you watch film are all about how players physically move and look. If two players have the same skin color they will naturally look more alike.

I agree, but we have been trying to come up with a good comprison in either football or basketball and really can't.

Lol so true...the white receiver is always "Not very fast but runs good routes, is smart and has good hands." They said this about Gonzo when he was very quick and running low 4.4's-high 4.3's handtimed.

How about the following

A day to remember

Chase Farris (Elyria HS) ? *** What makes him unique is his blend of strength and explosiveness as he is able to track down RB?s much smaller than himself. Chase comes in the mold of current Buckeye Nathan Williams in that he should be able to contribute quickly as a pass rush specialist. His frame is another plus, marking in at 6?5 and 250 but he should be able to add some more bulk without losing any closing speed or burst. The OSU DL is already arguably (really not much of an argument this year) the best in the nation, but it?s about to get even better.

In this very thread AJ is compared to Robiskie...so it seems like someone has already compared him to someone 'not white'.

Back to AJ proper, do we think AJ gets an offer before he heads back up to OSU or will his offer depend on what is seen during his visit?
