'11 MI WR DeAnthony Arnett (Tenn transfer to MSU, eligible for '12)

Agreed. Very dUMb.

If he did it to make an impression on the staff, I'd say he was successful.

And his impression was: I don't give a dang if OSU offers or not, I'm staying in MI! Who cares what he wore, we were never going after him in the first place. I'm sure this will be a moot point in several years when he's losing to OSU for the 3rd-4th straight time, and he's getting shut down by a number of our DBs. Have fun playing for a team that'll constantly be looking at OSU in the Big 10 rankings! :osu:

Video From GoBlueWolverine......Was named the Co-MVP at the Ohio State Nike Camp. Says that Michigan State holds a slight edge over Cal, Tennessee, USC & Notre Dame. Michigan State, Tennessee, Michigan & Oklahoma coaches were in to visit him this week. DeAnthony says he would be interested in an Ohio State offer, but believes they are holding off due to other prospects.

We're lucky to have The Bank as Ohio State's Scout Rep.....his questioning & video coverage blows the competition out of the water....

Purely speculation...but my novice guess is that if this guy doesn't have an offer from us yet...considering the other caliber of offers that he has, maybe the coaches have a good feeling about the kids we're currently after. Wow, what a run-on.

So you acknowledge the run-on, but fail to go back and correct yourself? Come on bro, you;re better than that. ha

Long day. :wink2:

Either way, it'll be interesting to see if Arnett picks up an offer sooner or later. If one or two of the WR's we're after now commit elsewhere, Arnett may be next on the board.

I thought our staff was over this kid, and the next offer would go to AJ Jordan, Devin Smith or Daniels from Il? Also I thought Shaq Washington was in this mix too

so did he get an offer?

A) If there was anything new it would have been posted.

B) You are obviously referring to some premium information that was posted on Scout yesterday. In the future, at least give the source of the information the proper credit if it is free...if it is premium please refrain from posting it.

BN $ - Arnett And OSU: Never Say Never

Another update...this one with quotes from Arnett.

Rivals $ - Ohio State checks in on Arnett

By Snow...has been getting great grades and is close to be a full qualifier...says he is real interested in OSU but is confused at the lack of an offer.

If they are looking at transcripts and test scores that is all we need to know about the lack of an offer. OSU is also in good shape with Wynne and Spencer. Look for the Bucks to only take 2 WR's in this class.

DeAnthony Arnett

High School: Saginaw. Height: 6-0. Weight: 170. 40-yard dash: 4.51. Scout.com ranking: No. 6 WR.

DeAnthony Arnett reeled 41 receptions for 876 yards and 10 touchdowns for Saginaw High last year, but this four-star prospect really turned heads during the offseason. The second-rated prospect in the state dominated opponents in seven-on-seven competitions throughout the winter and spring thanks to his precise route-running and impressive quickness.

"It seems like every camp DeAnthony goes to, he kills it," said Scout.com Midwest analyst Allen Trieu. "He continued to impress with his route-running, hands, and ball skills at the Michigan Football Showcase. He made the play of the tournament when he went up between two defenders and made an outstanding catch to win a game. Arnett continues to move up in our eyes and has proven to be one of the very best in country."

Michigan was among the first programs to take note of Arnett's talents, but the Wolverines have had to work hard to overcome questions about how he would fit into their spread attack. Michigan's spring game went a long way toward appeasing that concern.

"I thought the spring game went real well," Arnett said. "I got a chance to see all three quarterbacks compete and go at it. I seen my boy Devin (Gardner) out there doing his thing. I think Denard (Robinson) really stepped up. He looks like the guy. He really had a grasp of the offense. They just showed a little glimpse of everything.

"I feel comfortable that I could pretty much fit in anywhere. I do feel like I could fit in (Michigan's) offense. They play my game. Whether it is the spread or pro-style, everybody fits my game."

A successful season appears to be the next hurdle U-M has to clear before it can move into a top five that includes Michigan State (slight leader), USC, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and California.

ESPNU 150 prospect DeAnthony Arnett cuts list down to seven

Top wide receiver DeAnthony Arnett (Saginaw, Mich.) has trimmed his long list of suitors down to seven, ESPN affiliate Web site SpartanTailgate.com reports.

Michigan State, California, Iowa, Miami-FL, Oklahoma, Tennessee and USC have made the cut. Notre Dame, previously mentioned as a favorite for Arnett, was not included.

Over the next few months Arnett will be narrowing his list down either further and plans on taking all five official visit and make a decision after his senior season is over.

Some of the other schools that have been eliminated include Michigan, UCLA, Oregon, Cincinnati, Alabama, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Purdue and Illinois.

Arnett caught 41 passes for 875 yards (21.3 average) and scored 10 touchdowns during his junior season.
