'11 OH ATH Akise Teague (Cincinnati Signee)

Kid's a football player. From his highlights, he reminds me of current Buckeye Chris Fields, but with Fitzgerald Touissant's shake and bake. I can see why some would mention Chris Rainey with regards to Akise. He's pretty unique. Serious wheels with breakaway speed, serious jukes, good vision, and remarkably good at breaking tackles and making people miss despite his short stature.

If for no other reason, he should have an offer as a special teams demon. Athlete that could line up at WR or RB... any way you could get him on the field. Looks like a real playmaker on offense. Gotta think Tressel would love his versatility too.

Love this kid. I hope he gets an offer in the next batch of offers and we can find a place for him in this class.

If Teague wants to play RB, our RB depth might deter him from accepting an offer. I think he will end up with an impressive offer list. The prospect of being a "special teams demon" might not be that intriguing.

That being said, not sure where he is projected at next level whether it be RB, WR, CB etc.

Today's performance could seal an offer for Kise...
19 carries for 249 yards and 4 TD's ... plus 4 receptions for 94 yards and 1 TD ... Ursuline wins the Division V title over Coldwater 51 to 21.

Several of his runs were apparently highlight reel material.

Tressel and 4 other coaches in attendance.

Fpr those who think that he is too small for running back:

Akise Teague: 5' 8", 178 lbs
Lionel James: 5' 6", 171 lbs
Joe Morris: 5' 7", 190 lbs
Warrick Dunn: 5' 8", 187 lbs
Barry Sanders: 5' 8", 200 lbs
Tyrell Sutton: 5' 8", 213 lbs
Javon Ringer: 5' 9", 205 lbs
Emmett Smith: 5' 9", 216 lbs

Teague will probably add a few pounds in college and should play in the 190-200 range.

His explosion with the ball in his hands and his ability to make people miss is unreal. Legitimately being able to play either DB, WR, RB, and special teams in college can't hurt his chances for an OSU offer. Imagine running the read option with Miller, Teague, and all those talented RBs and WRs we have coming in.

Hate to bring it up but are academics a problem? I have seen on other boards that they are but that has not been confirmed. Could that be holding offers back?

After watching him today my only thought was "WOW...this kid can play".

Just to put the above in better perspective; the score at the half was 44 to 7. Teague, had almost 200 rushing, and 85 receiving by the half. Kudos to YU staff for a good show of sportsmanship and more, or less calling off the dogs.
