Scout $ - 'Tank' Rolls Through Junior Combine
By Bill Greene
Posted Jan 11, 2010

Measurements from the Army combine - 6'3"/250/4.69 (electronic)... Worked with the LBs but likely projects as a DE for college... Attended a bowl practice at Ohio State with Cardale Jones... Both were told they are likely to receive offers soon...

If the grades are right, I think he has to see an offer.

I could see him being a Darrion Scott type DE/DT. Right now he's DE all the way though, LEO type ala Gibson, Williams, Gholston, Smith, Kudla, Carpenter, etc. Can't have enough 6'3"/250/4.6 guys though.

Exactly. That's the kind of crazy athleticism where you take him now and find him a position when he gets on campus.

I was thinking the same thing. DT in 2-3 years. not many juniors weigh 250 lbs and run a 4.6 40. 30 to 40 lbs is not out of the questions by his sophmore year in College. He's a big one!

McClain was 240 and is 260 right now... Sturdivant is 250 already so, I'm not so sure if he can keep the weight off but still get stronger in a college weight program. But the electronic 40 time is nasty for a guy his size. I will have to watch film of both Sturdivant and McClain.

Good comparison. Scott was also a 6-3 250 4.65 LB coming out of high school.

Reminds me of a quicker Jeff Luc. I love Luc, but I think he's about maxed out. Andre still has space on his frame to add good weight. And they always say that weight gain at college is better than being a hulk in high school.

After seeing some of him on tape. I agree with this. He doesn't look too big, or stiff at all. He can put weight on and stay at MLB in my opinion. I like him at MLB, and he looks really good at shedding blocks along with having a lot of speed.

BN $ - Sturdivant Collects Offers

1/18

By GH...Pitt and Akron have offered and thinks Iowa is close...talks about the sickness he endured during the season (sinus infection that spread) that caused him to drop nearly 40 lbs...talks about his junior season in detail and his trip down to San Antonio...wants to be a team leader like Christian Bryant has been...top 5 of Ohio State, Miami, Michigan State, Florida State and USC.

He's not shy about how he feels about OSU...so it's all about whether OSU offers or not...and it's too early to say whether that will happen at this point.

He could fit in well at the strong side, we need strong siders, the 2 excellent recruits we already have are both on the lighter/weak side but Hayes may grow into that SE presence.

I don't see the frame for DT. He could be a massive MLB inforcer, or come on down to the Dline on the Strong side. I think DT would not be his highest and best use.

Either way, he see's an offer, it has to be only a matter of time, no?

2011 is looking nasty for us on the recruiting front.
