The Bulldogs are led by dynamic two-way starters Darius Patton (WR/CB) and Luke Wollet (RB/safety). QB Colin Reardon hasn?t looked like a sophomore all year and senior LB Mike Day leads an extremely sound defense.

That would be a heck of a thrill for Coach Tress. When you start coaching the son's of former players, you know you've done something right.

Wow. I remember watching his father play in HS for Campbell Memorial - now I feel old. Heck of a RB there and at YSU. If I remember correctly, he was around 6', hopefully Darius is still growing.

Scout $ - Patton Has Three Offers
Allen Trieu of SuperPrep.com, Feb 21, 2010

OFFERS: Toledo, WVU, Michigan St... INTEREST: OSU, Cincinnati, _ichigan... Transferred into Poland Seminary this year from Penn Hills, PA... He's hoping to get some visits in once basketball season wraps... OSU is recruiting him as a DB which makes him work harder since he sees himself as a WR... He thinks the offenses at scUM & WVU would be good fits for his talents...

Scout $ - Host of Offers, New Focus for Darius Patton

5/18

By Trieu...has added recent offers from Michigan, Indiana, Boston College, Wisconsin and Kansas...his favorite school, OSU, says they want to see him at camp at DB...says he is working on his DB skills because he wants an offer from OSU...of the schools that have offered West Virginia and Cincinnati and Michigan State stand out.

Probably a Plan B guy but one to keep an eye on if guys like Gorman and Kirby head elsewhere...

BN $ - Will Buckeyes Come Through For Patton?

7/21

By Housteau...Patton could see time at QB with Colin Reardon possibly out for the year...Patton's coach talks about how Darius has surrounded himself with good people to help him overcome adversity...talks about Darius' father's career at YSU...OSU has been upfront that Darius is behind one other out-of-state player on their board...they are optimistic OSU will eventually offer.

The Kirby situation can only have helped Darius' chances...I wonder if that out-of-state player isn't either Darius Jennings or Jabari Gorman?

That's interesting. I was sort of thinking the next in-state look might go to Williamson.

I did as well, Williamson seemed the like the next logical option, but like its always said, trust the coaches. Guess they see something in Patton

CORTLAND

Darius Patton delivered on both sides of ball Friday night, leading Poland to a hard-fought 33-30 win over Lakeview.

On offense, Patton caught 10 passes for 218 yards and scored three touchdowns. He started the scoring when he caught a 52-yard pass from quarterback Colin Reardon.

Patton also scored on the longest play of the evening, when he snagged a pass from Reardon and ran into the end zone to complete a 66-yard pass play early in the third quarter.

On defense, with the home team Bulldogs nearing the end zone in the closing moments of the game and trailing by only three points, 33-30, Patton intercepted a Lakeview pass in the end zone. Patton?s interception ended Lakeview threat with only 1:07 remaining on the game clock.

Patton ?has got all the tools,? said Poland coach Mark Brungard. ?Without a doubt he?s the player of the game.?

Patton made tough catches in traffic, surrounded by defenders, but sometimes slipped away and was wide open from throws from Reardon.

?He?s special,? agreed Lakeview coach Tom Pavlansky. ?He does that to a lot of people.?
