'12 IN SG Jeremy Hollowell (Indiana Verbal)

From what I've read, it seems that the Bucks are at least in his top-2 (along with IU) & it sounds like he'd be a great fit in the Matta system - big wing with great upside (some have said he could end up the top player in the loaded '12 class in IN).

2012 Intro: Jeremy Hollowell
by Alex Bozich in Recruiting | June 4th, 2010

The Essentials: 6-6, 195-lb forward for Lawrence Central and Eric Gordon Central Stars

The Schools: Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio State, Tennessee and Xavier have offered scholarships. Florida, Louisville and Michigan have expressed interest.

The Numbers: 17.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg for Lawrence Central, which finished 8-13.

The Leaders: Hollowell told Mike Pegram of Peegs.com at the adidas May Classic that Indiana and Ohio State are two schools that stand out. Hollowell is originally from Ohio.

The Quote: ?They (Ohio State) might have a little edge because I?m from Ohio. But it?s the same with Indiana, too. I?m still keeping it open.? ? Hollowell to Kyle Neddenriep of The Indianapolis Star.

The Scout Says: ?Thanks to his performance in Bloomington, Hollowell?s stock is on the rise. A near 6-foot-6 wing with a pretty complete game, things seem to come easy to Hollowell. He handles well enough to create his own offense, has size to post up other wings and he can shoot the ball with range. He?s also a competitor who is willing to take a tough defensive challenge and help out on the glass.? ? Rivals.com analyst Eric Bossi on Hollowell?s performance at the adidas May Classic.

New schools on Hollowell's radar
Posted by Kyle Neddenriep

Lawrence Central junior-to-be Jeremy Hollowell was curious to find out which college coaches would call him Tuesday, the first day allowed by the NCAA to call the 2012 prospects.

He was caught off guard a bit to hear from Florida coach Billy Donovan and Michigan coach John Beilein.

"Those two kind of surprised me," said Hollowell. "It was a big day to see who all was interested. They pretty much told me the same thing: to keep working hard and that they want me to come and visit."

The 6-6 Hollowell said he heard from all the schools he has offers from: Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio State, Tennessee and Xavier. In addition, coaches from Dayton, Indiana State, Miami (Fla.), Purdue and Southern Illinois also checked in.

As for upcoming visits, Hollowell has a busy schedule. He will squeeze in a trip to Michigan's elite camp Thursday after team camps at Indiana State this weekend and Ball State on Tuesday. He also hopes to line up a trip soon to Louisville.

Hollowell's mother, Chandra Lockett, actually took a visit of her own last weekend while her son was playing in the Nike Hoop Jamboree in St. Louis.

"She took a visit to Ohio State to get a look by herself," he said. "She really feels comfortable there."

Jeremy Hollowell talks Indiana, Ohio State
by Alex Bozich in Recruiting | June 18th, 2010

Jeremy Hollowell, the versatile 6-7 wing in the 2012 class from Lawrence Central in Indianapolis, fielded numerous calls this week as June 15 marked the first day college coaches could call juniors-to-be per NCAA rules.

In addition to hearing from Tom Crean, Hollowell also heard from three new schools ? Florida, Michigan and Southern Illinois ? as well as Ohio State, Tennessee, Illinois, Xavier, Cincinnati, Indiana State and Miami (FL).

The message from Crean continues to stress the opportunity to be a part of something special in Bloomington.

?He just keeps telling me to keep working,? Hollowell said. ?He?d like to use me as a 2-3-4, somebody he can interchange and play multiple positions and also guard multiple positions. He also talks about the tradition, how our class is real important and bringing it all back together.?

Hollowell, who plays for the Eric Gordon All-Stars, said that the chance for immediate minutes could help the Hoosiers.

?It can help a little in a certain way,? he said. ?You get a chance to go in and play right away.?

Another school that figures to be a factor with Hollowell is Ohio State, where he?s visited several times and recently played pickup games with National Player of the Year Evan Turner and Jared Sullinger, who will be a freshman next season.

?I like Ohio State,? Hollowell said. ?I?m from Ohio so I grew up watching them a lot. I used to like watching them when Mike Conley and Greg Oden were there. The coaches are pretty cool. They?re real good guys. I really like the school and the coaches.?

Indianapolis Lawrence Central star Jeremy Hollowell was sensational in a morning game for the Eric Gordon 16s team. He said nothing has changed on the recruiting front with Indiana and Ohio State at the top of his list. Florida coach Billy Donovan and assistant Richard Pitino were watching him on Tuesday, along with Crean and Matta.

Jeremy Hollowell (2012, W) Hollowell is an extremely talented wing playing for the Eric Gordon Central Stars 116U. He?s very athletic and tall (6-6), which meant he was able to grab rebounds, start and finish breaks. And he finished with authority. The guy can jump out of the gym and showed it, slamming a mean alley-oop midway through the game. He also showed an impressive stroke from 3. His ballhandling is good but could be better. He already has offers from a ton of schools, including Indiana, Ohio State and Illinois, but hasn?t received one from Michigan. He did mention he knew Lavall Jordan from his Iowa days. This guy?s a big-time player.

Seen and heard

Lawrence Central junior-to-be Jeremy Hollowell lists Indiana and Ohio State as favorites.

"I'm from Ohio and always liked Ohio State and IU because I've lived here most of my life," he said. "I like coach (Tom) Crean and the way he's rebuilding."

In addition, the 6-6 Hollowell also has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana State, Iowa, Tennessee and Xavier.

Hollowell likes two

Indianapolis Lawrence Central junior Jeremy Hollowell is considered one of the top prospects statewide in the 2012 class.

The 6-8 Hollowell said Indiana and Ohio State are at the top of his list "but it's really still open for me."

Hollowell also has scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa, Xavier and Tennessee, and mentioned Florida, Michigan, Louisville, Southern Illinois and Dayton.

"I'm just going to keep playing hard and doing what I do," Hollowell said.

He said he likes Ohio State because he's originally from Ohio, noting "it's in the middle with some of my family in Cleveland and some in Indiana."

Hollowell said he's "basically down to Ohio State and Indiana" and that he will likely make a decision before his junior season. Xavier is also being considered.
"I was looking at making a decision (after the season), but I think I'll make it pretty soon because some other people will start committing and take up spots," he said.
^^ I think that's a good sign for OSU that he wants to make an early decision so there's still a spot for him - that's what motivated some other OSU recruits (such as Evan Turner) to end the process somewhat abruptly, and I don't believe there's going to be a run on verbals for lowly Indiana any time soon.
Also talks about perceived lack of passion/aggressiveness being a knock on his game.

Jeremy Hollowell, Lawrence Central (IN): The talented wing player is continuing his strong summer playing with the Eric Gordon 16u AAU team. I?d be lying if I said he was the most productive player on the circuit, but he just has so many tools to impact the game. He?s a legitimate 6?7, can handle the ball like a guard, and has the length to impact the glass as well. This weekend he was very aggressive off the dribble, taking opponents to the rim first and knocking down his shot second. He also showed off great athleticism, catching a couple ally-oop dunks and finishing some acrobatic lay ups.

I can understand what you are saying up to a point but I think most schools would find a scholarship if Hollowell wanted to go to their school.

The only thing that worries me about Indiana is that they will feel a lot of pressure to go to what is now his home state school. I know that he was born in Ohio but the Hoosiers will be all over him so the sooner that deal is done I agree with you that it benefits the Buckeyes.
