'12 MN WR Andre McDonald

http://ohiostate.scout.com/2/1096637.html

All is quiet with two of the Midwest's top uncommitted receivers. Minnetonka (Minn.) Hopkins' Andre McDonald and Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller's Monty Madaris both told Scout this week that there are no new developments in their recruitment. Both say they are concentrating on their high school seasons and neither have set any official visits. McDonald is considering Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State and others, while Madaris is looking at Nebraska, Michigan State, Michigan, Florida State and others.

McDonald knows there's a target on his back and he hopes to make a college decision soon. The Gophers are still in the mix, but so are three other schools.

"I went down to Iowa, Vanderbilt," McDonald said. "I'm looking at Ohio State and still Minnesota. I don't know, those are the only four schools."

After a visit to Iowa, the Hawkeyes now lead for his services but upcoming college visits are sure to complicate things.

Recruiting update: McDonald is looking for team No. 3 after decommitting from Minnesota in the summer and Vanderbilt just a few weeks ago. When the Commodores' receivers coach, Chris Beatty, left for Illinois, McDonald reopened his commitment. Vanderbilt already received an official visit from McDonald, so the Commodores are behind the eight ball a little bit. McDonald officially visited Minnesota on Jan. 13 and will check out UCLA this weekend. McDonald obviously knows what he is getting with Minnesota and Vanderbilt, so UCLA has a chance to really impress McDonald just a few days before signing day.
