Obviously the staff likes this guy more than Wilson from Ohio.

Without knowing much about him, it is widely known that Pryor and Hall are revered and celebrities in Jeanette. Would think we might be in the driver's seat.

I know that the above is only one high light film but he seems more a "Ath" and offense type of player than a "S" deffensive player. Maybe future film will point in the other direction.

I don't know where you been, but that is the kinda player we usually recruit to play safety....

I.E. OJ Johnson, Ron Tanner, Anderson Russel....

I hear you guys and agree but I'm just thinking Hall and Pryor were standouts on O and recruited as such for the most part by OSU. I just wonder about the pictch being made to Cox based totally by watching his film. Is he a "we are looking at you as a safty only" or a "come in as an Ath. and we will see where you click." I have no $$ subscription so my thinking is guess work. But if he turns into a Heines, etc. etc. I will be happy.:)

Recruiting Notes: Jeannette QB/S Demetrious Cox up to 17 D-1 offers
Published: Thursday, April 28, 2011
By Joshua Funk, PennLive.com football blogger

Jeannette's two-way athlete Demetrious Cox is just three offers shy of 20.

The Jayhawks' senior-to-be is up to 17 verbal D-1 offers, according to national recruiting services Scout.com and Rivals.com. Offering schools include Akron, Arizona State, Boston College, Connecticut, Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Syracuse, Temple, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Other programs showing interest in Cox that have not yet extended offers include Buffalo and Duke.

Scout.com ranks Cox as the #31 safety in the 2012 recruiting class. Six of Cox' 17 verbal offers (35.3 percent) have come from the Big 10 Conference.

Cox operated the reins of a resurgent Jeannette offense that averaged 38 points per game last season, topping the 40-point mark in six of 10 games. He accounted for 16 total touchdowns, running for 12 and throwing for four. He amassed 621 rushing yards and completed 55-of-88 passes for 698 yards.

Defensively, Cox was part a Jayhawk unit (including reserves) that held seven of 10 opponents to 13 points or less. He recorded a trio of interceptions for Jeannette as a safety.

Jeannette finished 7-3 last season, ending the year with two consecutive losses following a 7-1 start. The Jayhawks were eliminated in the opening round of the WPIAL AA playoffs by Freeport, 30-22.
