'12 PA S Demetrious Cox (Michigan St. Verbal)

Just watched the replay of the WPIAL AA championship game (Aliquippa defeated Jeanette, 14-7), and the Pittsburgh announcers said Cox and his coach made an "unofficial" visit to Ohio State. They quoted his coach as saying Cox was likely to attend a Big Ten school.

Cox visits MSU; 5 others remain in hunt
December, 21, 2011
By Jared Shanker

Four-star Jeannette (Pa.) safety Demetrious Cox took his first official visit last weekend, and five more teams are fighting to earn on his final four visits.

Michigan State was the first program Cox officially visited, though it was the fourth time he has been to East Lansing. He said Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Wisconsin are the teams in contention for his final four visits when the dead period ends in early January, if he decides to use them all.

Like his first three visits, Cox said his visit to Michigan State went ?really good.? This time, though, he had a chance to hang out with a lot of the players as they prepare for the Outback Bowl.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - 12/22

Jeannette QB leads parade

This season, a dual-threat quarterback from Jeannette lit up the WPIAL, leading the Jayhawks to an Interstate Conference title and a spot at Heinz Field for the WPIAL title game.

Sound familiar?

Jayhawks quarterback Demetrious Cox, who has even drawn some comparisons to WPIAL legend Terrelle Pryor, was electric this season, and he highlights the Post-Gazette East Xtra Fabulous 22.

ESPN - Four-star Demetrious Cox thinking visits

1/9

Four-star Jeannette (Pa.) safety Demetrious Cox spent his senior season focusing on his high school football team and put off his official visits until the winter. After a visit to Michigan State in December, Cox will use at least three of his visits these last three weekends before signing day on Feb. 1.

Those visits have not been set as of yet, but Cox knows which two teams are in the race for a visit this weekend.

?I?m not sure but it?ll be either Ohio State or Wisconsin,? said Cox, who was visited by Badgers? assistant Chris Ash on Friday. ?Whichever team me and my dad sit down and talk about and see which team is better to visit this week.?

Four-star visiting Ohio State
January, 10, 2012
By Jared Shanker

Four-star Jeannette (Pa.) safety Demetrious Cox has made a decision ... about where he will visit this coming weekend.

On Friday, Cox, Pennsylvania's top uncommitted prospect, will officially visit Ohio State. He was deciding between using his second official visit on either Ohio State or Wisconsin, which could receive a visit Jan. 20 now.

"I like the staff there," Cox said of the Buckeyes. "I like coach [Urban] Meyer a lot and his coaching scheme, and he's going to make a big turn. I can see them being a great team."

Scout $ - Cox Talks Final Six

1/12

By Bob L...will visit PSU this weekend...talks about his final six.

The truth is it isn't O'Brien "making a dent"...OSU told Cox they already have five visitors scheduled for this weekend and asked him to postpone...let the speculation begin.

You don't have to have been following recruiting for very long to see that his means OSU and Cox are probably going in different directions...you can likely cross him off your wish list.
