'13 CA WR Sebastian LaRue (USC Decommit; Texas A&M Verbal)

I wonder how many of these WR commits believe they'll have more than one season catching throws from Johnny Heisman...he's gone after next year if he has another season enough close to what he just had.

If A&M somehow pulls off this 40 man class without repercussions, why not do it again next year? Sign 6-8 top qb's, with the selling point being the both the massive stable of stud wr's they have, and being the heir-apparent to JM. Whoever doesn't cut it in any way gets kicked to the curb, as will happen with this 10 wr class. As in stock market manipulation, lather;rinse;repeat.

This was a surprise. At the beginning of the month I said he could be at OSU, Washington State, or TA&M, but I seriously didn't think he'd end up at A&M with that huge class they've currently got committed. Are all those guys really going to sign? Maybe Sumlin starts cutting people like crazy, I dunno. Talk about ridiculous though.

Is ND done at WR/have other higher targets? I thought LaRue was seriously considering ND. And the A&M receiver class gets even more ridiculous.

I think he was seriously considering them at the beginning of the month. I heard there was an academic question, but I wouldn't be surprised if the January Irish media blitz wasn't what scared him off.

I don't think ND has any other WRs targeted at this time. They've got 2 verballed and 2 who have already enrolled would make 4. They will probably stick with 4 at this time as the only seniors they're graduating with playing time are the backups, both starters are returning. I heard the Irish were going after another USC soft verbal, DE Torrodney Prevot, but rumors are now swirling that he's gonna squeeze into A&M too

I think if LaRue wanted in with the Irish they would have made room, but I got the sense a few weeks ago that he was no longer in the mix like he had been. I honestly thought recently he had a better chance landing with OSU, Michigan, or even recommitting to Southern Cal before going to A&M...go figure. I haven't seen any other Irish targets, the only two that I've seen buzzing are commits to other schools that are wavering. They'd like to steal USC commit Eddie Vanderdoes and UCLA verbal Deon Hollins Jr. Word is that Hollins could switch, Vanderdoes may end up at Alabama or sticking with USC...so probably a negative on both.

Prophetic

LaRue left Texas A&M 3 days ago. He's looking to transfer, but it looks like he's wanting to stay home closer to California. Could mean he goes back to USC, which was his first verbal. Theres some talk about him going to WSU too. I'm sure this move had nothing to do with the 12 other WRs Summlin signed last season, things were probably a bit crowded, along with JFM leaving.
