Rivals$--WR Stevens clears the air

Tony says he decommitted from FSU because they were against him taking any visits. He is supposed to talk to the FSU staff Sunday to let them know if they are still in consideration. He is looking forward to coming to Columbus.

I get the gut feeling that is much ado about nothing regarding FSU. I just think he really wants to be a Buckeye.

All-American Tony Stevens says he's solid with FSU
By Chris Hays | Orlando Sentinel
November 3, 2012

Orlando Evans wide receiver Tony Stevens said Friday night after the Trojans clinched the Class 7A, District 4 title, the he remains solid with his commitment to Florida State's 2013 recruiting class.

"I'm still with Florida State," said Stevens, speaking publicly about his commitment for the first time since reports last month that he had decommitted from his Seminoles' pledge.

"Florida State's pretty good and they're picking up points. I just went to see them play this last Saturday."

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Stevens had a 53-yard punt return for a touchdown in Evans' 43-25 district-clinching win over Lake Minneola.

Stevens said he still plans to take some official visits and that he has talked with FSU coaches about his intentions. He said he will likely visit Ohio State, Notre Dame, Louisville and Georgia.

Stevens was recently invited to play in the second Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, which will be played Jan. 4, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

"Being All-American means to me that all of my hard work has paid off," Stevens said.

Bright House Sports - Evans WR Tony Stevens named to the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl

12/5

Tony Stevens didn?t put up spectacular numbers in his final season at Evans but he made plays when they need him most. The Trojans wide receiver became the first football player in school history to be named a U.S. Army All-American. His family, teammates and coach, Chip Gierke, watched Stevens accept the invitation and don the Army jersey.

A&M really? still recruiting? nice, going for 40 member class

On top of that they've got 8 commits who are listed as WR's by Scout. That total includes two 5 stars for the 2013 class and stud Juco Jacquay Williams. I guess you could safely say that Stevens is not afraid of competition if he heads to TAMU.
