Power forward
Cincinnati, Ohio
Withrow

Ht:6'6"
Wt:205 lbs
Class:2013 (High School)

April, 2010: Devin is a strong post player. He has solid athletic ability and solid developing skills. He scores in the low post and out to 12 feet. He has decent post moves already but mostly scores facing the basket. He can score some over his left shoulder but is very good at putting the ball on the floor from the midpost and getting to the basket. He has solid quickness which allows him to beat most post players to the cup off the bounce. He is a good rebounder and is comfortable handling the ball a little after snaring the rebound. He uses his strong frame to wall off his opponent and uses his athletic ability and strong hands on the boards to garner rebounds. Devin is an ok defender. He needs to improve his feet and his dedication to that end of the floor in order to get better.

ESPN Recruiting

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The All-Ohio Super Sixteen Showcase had some strong Ohio flavor as practically all of the top programs from the Buckeye State participated, as well as top teams from Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia and even New York. This event continues to be a main stop on the spring calendar.

Players to watch

Devin Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/Withrow)
2013, PF, 6-7, 225 pounds | Team: Ohio Basketball Club
College: Undecided

He is a powerful player in the paint who is a very good rebounder. Williams has really worked to improve offensively and has a developing face-up game. He has solid hands which help him clean the glass in the paint. He is now a decent face-up shooter to 15 feet who can put the ball on the floor some and get to the cup inside 12 feet. He is developing into one of the best power forward prospects in the 2013 class.

WVU still on lengthy list for Ohio forward
by The Associated Press

(MCT)

July 15--Devin Williams is at least two years away from potentially suiting up for the WVU men's basketball team. But for Williams, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward preparing to enter his junior year at Withrow H i g h School in Cincinnati, playing for the Mountaineers is a distinct possibility.

"I like West Virginia a lot," Williams said Thursday, following his Ohio Basketball Club 16-U team's opening game at Jam Fest. "The last time I was up here, I got to talk to 1/8WVU head coach Bob Huggins3/8 and I liked him. He's down-toearth and he's going to tell it like it is: He doesn't beat around the bush. And I believe that they've developed a lot of players here, too."

In the early stages of the game, WVU is on Williams' list. But it's a list that seems to be growing by the second.

"I know who's interested 1/8in me3/8 but I can't just name them all off the top of my head," Williams said. "There are so many right now. It feels good. But just because I'm getting offers doesn't mean that I can stop working."

Cincinnati, Dayton, Illinois and Tennessee have made him offers already and scouts from James Madison, Akron, Wisconsin, Seton Hall, Toledo, Davidson and Ohio University were all on hand to watch Williams and the Ohio Basketball Club take on Team Finesse on Thursday afternoon. Those schools join Ohio State, Arizona, Michigan State, DePaul, Indiana, Xavier, Iowa, UCLA and Wake Forest as programs that have shown interest.

"Most every Big Ten school is showing interest," Ohio Basketball Club coach Michael Duncan said. "So is Kentucky, and Tennessee."

Withrow junior power forward Devin Williams handling college attention well
Oct 11, 2011 | Written by mdyer

Withrow junior power forward Devin Williams has several significant college scholarship offers, but hasn?t narrowed anything down yet, according to Withrow coach Tyrone Gibert.

?He?s doing a great job,? Gibert said. ?We talked beforehand. A lot of coaches have come up to the school. He hasn?t narrowed anything down.?

Williams has offers that include UC, Xavier, Pittsburgh, USC, Illinois, Iowa, Marquette, West Virginia, Wisconsin, San Diego State, Tennessee, North Carolina State, Indiana and Penn State, according to Gibert. UCLA has also shown significant interest.

Indiana is expected to visit Withrow today or Thursday, Gibert said.

Williams, who is 6 feet 8, is ranked the nation?s No. 66 player overall in the 2013 class, according to Rivals.com.

Williams, an honorable mention all-Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference selection last season, averaged 13.0 points and 10.6 rebounds for the Tigers.

Gibert, who has been around Withrow in some capacity for the past 10-15 years, said the 16-year-old Williams is one of the hardest workers he?s seen in practice and going through drills.

?He is one of the best rebounders in the class,? said Brian Snow, a recruiting analyst with Scout.com. ?He attacks the glass and he takes pride in it.?

Gibert said the college coaches are interested in seeing Williams in person since they haven?t watched him since the summer. Gibert said the coaches like his size and ability to shoot.

?He can knock it down from 15 feet,? Gibert said. ?He has range and a nice stroke.?

Withrow is expected to be one of the elite teams in the area this season and while Gibert prefers his seniors to lead, he said Williams has stepped up with his work ethic.

?Every one of them (college coaches) say he?s a good kid,? Gibert said.
