April, 2010: Tony is an athletic combo forward with a good motor and developing skills. He has a long, strong and athletic body. Tony is best right now as a skilled power forward. He scores mostly inside 15 feet. He is a decent face up shooter to 15 feet.

Farmer is the best athlete of the three. He is long and has a perfect basketball body. His skills are still developing as he is a streaky shooter right now with range to about 17 feet. He is the best perimeter defender of the trio. He is not totally comfortable in space but he is improving.

With all due respect to Tony Farmer's game, you are really saying something if you have not seen the entire class of 2013... just sayin. I also think that with Tony being from Garfield Heights, the Badgers might have a jump on him when it comes to recruiting.

Wisconsin? Bo Ryan's feared recruiting prowess? LOL! I know another kid from Garfield Heights is on the UW roster, but OSU never recruited him heavily. Wisconsin wouldn't be one of the schools I'd worry about OSU having to go up against for a recruit from the state of Ohio.

Farmer really sounds like a great prospect - at this point it looks to me like he and Marc Loving are the two in-state players with the best chance of being offered by OSU in the '13 class.

Just because Ohio State does not recruit a player like Rob Johnson does not mean that that player is chopped liver. He was the #1 player in the Cleveland area when at Garfield Heights. So you don't think a kid who graduates from a specific high school has no influence on where the next best player from that high school would go to college:huh: 2013 is a long way off to start saying how good a certain college or high school player might be at that time.

I don't think the influence would be all that large, especially as the two are separated by 5 years. No reason to fear Bo Ryan on this one - but we shouldn't go to sleep on a fine young talent, either.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The All-Ohio Super Sixteen Showcase had some strong Ohio flavor as practically all of the top programs from the Buckeye State participated, as well as top teams from Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia and even New York. This event continues to be a main stop on the spring calendar.

Tony Farmer (Garfield Heights, Ohio/Garfield Heights)
2013, SF, 6-7, 210 pounds | Team: Ohio Basketball Club
College: Undecided

He is a versatile offensive player who has really improved in the past year. He still does not give a consistent effort, but when he is engaged he can impact the game with scoring and rebounding. Farmer is a streaky shooter with range to 20 feet and can put the ball on the floor, especially going right. He is a solid rebounder when crashing in from the wing and is especially good on the offensive glass. He still struggles some in space defensively, but that may be the final piece to the puzzle.

Tony Farmer: This physical 6-foot-6 forward was an All-State second team selection and has emerged on the national scene thanks in large part to his play with All-Ohio. He is a superb perimeter defender and has a progressing offensive game revolving around a tight mid-range jumper. He encountered legal trouble in the spring, stemming from a confrontation with his ex-girlfriend, but Rogers expects him to be available for Peach Jam in July.

Basketball recruit Tony Farmer gets 3 years in prison

Farmer, a heavily recruited high school basketball player from Garfield Heights, Ohio, was sentenced to three years in prison for kidnapping and assault of his ex-girlfriend, Andrea Lane.

Farmer, 18, turned to his attorney after the sentence was announced and collapsed to the floor.

The sentence is set to be reviewed after 180 days.

The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reports that the incident, which took place last April in the lobby and parking lot of Lane's apartment complex, was caught on the apartment complex's videotape. Farmer also reportedly sent threatening text messages to Lane.

Farmer, a 6-foot-6 forward, was one of the top 100 prospects in the class of 2013. Xavier, Dayton, Ohio State, Michigan State, Iowa, West Virginia and Illinois were all courting him.

Most schools recruiting Farmer will be waiting to see how the case plays out, Garfield Heights High School basketball coach Sonny Johnson told The Plain Dealer.

Tony could've been an OSU recruit, but he made the wrong choices.

Bruce Pearl's show cause penalty will expire in a few years, and I'm sure someone will give him a coaching job ... perhaps Tony will be out of prison and looking for a team to take him on at the same time.
