Shelton Gibson (Declaring for 2017 NFL Draft)

Not to be an ass, but I've been here forever (while never very outspoken) and the poster showmebuck said just curious. Stop being so clicky. BuckeyePlanet is great because it's welcoming and we're all Buckeyes. Lighten up a little.

Back to Shelton.
Thank you. Yes, I was just wondering if it was based on something interesting to know about the young man's situation that's all. There are some testy folks on here sometimes.

Shelton looks like a slot/speedster btw. I'd love to see a class of him, Quick and Allen. All fast and each with a little different style. Side note - I love the national approach of recruiting under UFM. A stud TE from CA, stud QB from Texas and the list goes on.

Go Bucks!!!!

I'm assuming this kid just isn't into the recruiting services/talk business. Seems like he is just keeping a low profile and is making his decisions without a lot of chat with recruiting services. Sounds good to me!

Preliminaries at the state meet start at 4:45 p.m. Friday with the finals starting at noon on Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus.

The top four finishers in each event automatically qualifies for the state meet.

In the 100, Khoury Crenshaw of the Comets beat out Shelton Gibson of the Tigers for first place with his time of 10.56. Gibson?s time was 10.67. Crenshaw came back to win the 200 as three of the top four were area runners. Crenshaw?s time of 21.48 couldn?t be beat. Gibson was third in 21.73 and Kenston?s Darryl Richards was fourth in 21.82.

Shelton Gibson of Cleveland Heights was fifth in the 100 in 10.99 as he and Crenshaw dueled all season in the event.

Gibson got the best of Crenshaw and nearly everyone else in the 200, however, as he came in second in 21.76. Crenshaw was fourth in 21.88.

?That was my last race of the year,? Crenshaw said. ?I gave all I had. I ended with a bang. It?s pretty exciting to come down here and race against these guys.?

Gibson was much happier about his 200 race than his 100.

?That feels a lot better,? Gibson said.

Gibson, a junior, also commented on his football career as a receiver as he said he?s narrowed his choices down to Ohio State and Auburn.

?I want to go better next year,? Gibson said. ?I?m going to work harder in practice and try to get better.?
