'13 PA ATH Robert Foster (Alabama Signee)

Before I state my question let me say that OSU and Foster moving in different directions may be mutually beneficial decisions, but, having said that let me stir the pot a little.

Some major news outlets like ESPN, etc, are pointing to Paul C. at Pitt as the natural choice for head coach at Wisconsin now that Bret is SEC bound. If this happens does anyone believe this impacts Foster or in the same type of thinking the OL Johnson? Maybe Alabama is positioned to benefit more with Foster but it adds a wrinkle that will be worth watching. Also, the school itself may be the real reason these recruits are going there regardless of who the coaches are. Friends, distance from home, etc..

He said he's choosing between Pitt and Alabama. How would that affect us? Why wouldn't he then just choose Alabama if a coaching change at Pitt was a concern?

Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley wide receiver Robert Foster makes his announcement on Friday, with little drama involved. Foster is down to Alabama and Pitt, but if he chooses the Tide, it'll be stunning. Since day one, Foster was one of those prospects who was clearly not going to leave home. He has been linked to Pitt from the start, despite the Panthers' recent coaching issues. He enjoyed his Alabama visit quite a bit and rumor has it he was tempted to commit to recruiting coach Mike Groh, but his family wants him close and I think he becomes a huge part of Pitt's class. If Alabama pulls an upset here, the Tide will vault ahead of Notre Dame and USC into the No. 1 slot in the national team rankings. If Pitt lands Foster, it will push past Rutgers for No. 1 in the Big East and would be No. 5 in the ACC, for comparison sake.

Who does this? Who tells their family one thing and does another the next day - when it is this significant? Tell them Pitt today and "I need to think some more" tomorrow - I get that. But not this.

I know they are kids, but .....
