That's if you put stock into quotes to strangers, particularly ones that make up dozens that contact him weekly (if not daily/hourly) for updates from every website under the sun. That's a pretty questionable approach.

Teams are rarely even, nor are there usually 5-10 schools with a true shot at a kid.

Exactly. What I took away from his visit during the summer was that even though we were in the top four at the time, he know every little about tOSU to seriously consider us. Now that we are in the top two and he is taking time to get to know the program after his second visit, that's gotta be a good sign. I think getting him to come out for the third date for SCum is the key, especially if that turns out to be another unofficial.

Not sure how one of the most critical recruits falls to 3rd page, he must keep things close to the vest which I respect.

Anyway saw this fwiw when looking at the foster drama, sounds good to me:

Apparently Ohio State believes Dorian Johnson (Belle Vernon, PA) is a recruit that they have on lock and will be committing soon

I'll just copy my response from the rumor mill....

Looks like 2 kids (literally) that just started using that twitter account 5 days ago. I have no idea if they actually know anything or not, but a 5 day old twitter account from 2 kids with pretty much no recruiting history seems a little sketchy.

1 of the kids is this guy...

ESPN - Dorian Johnson confirms OSU visit for U-M game

10/31

Ohio State will get a second chance to wow the No. 2 offensive tackle in the nation.

And if that impression is anything like the first, Buckeyes fans can expect Dorian Johnson (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon) to be floored. Johnson confirmed he will be visiting Ohio State for the Michigan game on Nov. 24.

Trib HS Insider Q&A: Belle Vernon?s Dorian Johnson
By Dave Mackall

When the high school football season started, 6-foot-6 Dorian Johnson weighed a hefty 290 pounds.

With the start of WPIAL playoffs approaching, he?s down to 270.

?A lot of water, I guess,? said the Belle Vernon senior offensive tackle, who was committed to Penn State but backed out in September following the sanctions levied against the storied Nittany Lions program.

No matter his size, Johnson has been rated a four-star recruit and the 23rd-best offensive tackle prospect in the Class of 2013, according to Rivals.com. Pitt, Ohio State and Virginia Tech are his main targets, now that Penn State isn?t an option.

?It?s going pretty good,? said Johnson, who recovered a fumble for a touchdown during a 35-0 victory over Albert Gallatin last Friday in the regular-season finale. ?It hasn?t been as hectic as it was in the summer, now that we?ve been in the season. I?ve been talking to their coaches every week.?

Johnson and Belle Vernon (4-5) open the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs Friday at No. 6 Central Valley (7-2), which was upset in its regular-season finale last week by Beaver Falls.
