'14 MD OT Damian Prince (Maryland Signee)

Maryland is the one team I am a bit worried about. Home state school. Some excitement about moving to the Big Ten. A real push to keep the top local kids like Stefon Diggs in-state. Selling him on starting instantly and being a local star.

In some ways, the longer his recruitment goes, the better for us if the Terps struggle on the field again. Edsall seems like he is already on shaky ground there and is not a media or fan favorite.

lol That's how I read it at first also.

I'm assuming it's Jalyn recruiting Damien hard.

Could be a perfect situation as Holmes was more or less considered a silent verbal to Free Shoes U. He and McMillan would be the icing on the cake for this class, as they would surely ensure a another Top 3 finish.

or Mavety if there is room.

This is a VERY tough one for me. If you could only take one..... would it be Mavety or Prince? If Prince lives up to his billing you probably have 3 years of play out of him vs. 2 yrs likely with Mavety. Could Prince play all 4 yrs and could Mavety leave after 1? Sure. I think Mavety playing 2 yrs is fairly likely. So, you land Prince and he is an absolute stud and you have him for one extra year, maybe 2 compared to Mavety.

Given our concerns next year I would personally take Mavety now. What I hope of course is that we land them both; Mavety in the next few weeks and we hold out a spot for Prince if he ends up being a signing day guy. Man, I would absolutely love to have both and it's not overloading IMO, expecially with TG's departure.

Adding either one to the 4 we have goes a long way to curb our concerns the next few years, landing both cements the best O Line class ever and sets up beautifully for the forseeable future. It's certainly a great spot to be in. I hope they realize there is room for them both and doing so just helps each other by setting up a dominant position group that would have to be fun to be a part of.

On a side note, what an amazing turn around for this position group after our troubles last year which I still contribute to Walrus hangover. Major props to Warriner and Meyer.

So far, looks like you called it.
