I was sold after two plays. Wow.

One of the main posters over at Mgoblog; a guy named Mangus who considers himself a talent evaluator, said he doesn't consider Marshall a Michigan level talent. Obviously at this point 3 BIG staffs disagree. He looks explosive in his tape to me. It will be interesting how much bigger he gets going into his senior season.

I agree...

He is better.

Looks like a perfect LEO candidate to me...at the very worst a pass rush specialist. Simply an incredible athlete that pins back his ears and gets to the ball. Very raw but off the charts with the tangibles.

Surprised he didn't go to Brother Rice, St. Mary's or Harrison. They get most of the kids from that area. Southfield High produces MAC-Lower B1G level talent virtually every year, so it's nice to see a prospect that's on a different level. Definitely one to keep on eye on, but going to be a tough pull as it's all UM or MSU (Mostly UM) in that area, with the few in state kids both schools go after. If the staff wants him, I'm sure he will listen, but this one is intriguing to say the least.

That must mean OSU leads

@Derek11W Was just told OSU will be at Cass Tech and Southfield H.S. tomorrow. Southfield is home to new 2014 DE offer Lawrence Marshall.

Following up with Damon Webb, the other Cass Tech recruits and Mr. Marshall I presume.

I think RB07 nailed it with Lawrence being a raw talent. If the scUM fans are saying he's not a "m*ch*g*n level" recruit, I have a feeling they are saying that because he's not very close to being a finished product. He's undeniably raw... but despite that, he's good enough to be the best player on that defense and more than likely the best player on that team as a JR.

The last couple of times I heard scUM fans collectively say that (not "m*ch*g*n level" talent) about a guy from their state that we offered and they didn't, one ended up a lottery pick in the NFL draft and the other one is slated to likely be a lottery pick in this year's draft... and funny enough, both were defensive linemen... one Vernon Gholston and one Jonathan Hankins. If for no other reason other than that, I would love to see Lawrence spurn the flagship in-state program, come south, and prove them wrong like Vernon and Big Hank did. Call it karma for all the drivel that Hoke sells Ohio kids on to come to TSUN.

Lawrence wouldn't be a guy that we would be looking to play right away, but the potential reward/ceiling down the line for him looks awfully darn promising. You can see he's got a lot to work with and he's only going to get better with teaching and a great S&C program. If he doesn't end up at tOSU, I hope he ends up somewhere in the B1G because I think he'd be a great addition to any team in our conference.
