'14 NC ATH Braxton Berrios (Miami signee)

I've been a huge Berrios fan from Day 1. Love the offer and I am interested to see how he would fit into this class. I was personally shocked to see him at FNL but I love the drive to earn it.

For those in the know: is the title verbal offer because it's an offer or is it an OFFER?

Either way BB has some quicks and I wouldn't mind seeing him don the SnG.

:oh:

All offers are verbal only until receiving official offers in September of the Senior year. That being said, I highly doubt it's not an "OFFER" after camping at Ohio State multiple times.

Most interesting offer list I've ever seen, everything from Harvard, Yale, Duke, to Tenn., Da U, and Ohio State.

Heck of a well rounded kid, a real student athlete. This is a rather late offer, but at this point I can't ever rule out what the coaching staff can do.

Berrios is about more than football

When you?re one of the top football prospects in the country you get a lot of attention from a lot of different people. Your phone doesn?t stop ringing, people constantly tweet and re-tweet you and almost every college coach in the country wants to see you in their uniform.

That?s the life of Leesville Road?s Braxton Berrios, but that is only part of his story.

?I?ve been playing football since I moved to Raleigh. I think I was seven when I started,? said Berrios.

That decision to play football has led Berrios to another big decision, in the next few months Berrios will have to decide which one of the dozens of college offers he will accept.

?It doesn?t make you feel like a high school kid I can tell you that much. And for anybody that?s been through it, they could probably tell you the same thing,? said Berrios.

?It?s a 40-year commitment, it?s not a four-year commitment, it?s a 40-year commitment. You gotta factor in offenses and defenses, if you?re a defensive player, and coaches and playing time. You gotta have a relationship with coaches and everybody should understand that it?s a business. They?re not guaranteed to be there ten years, they?re not guaranteed to be there two years, you know every year they recruit people to be the people they just recruited last year. So it?s a business and you gotta understand that, but you want to be able to trust people. You want to build relationships. You want a steady program, good tradition. If you?re not excited about the place then you?ll never go there, wake up every day ready to work and you?ll never reach your full potential. It?s obviously the biggest decision so far in my life.?

Football hasn?t been the only sport Berrios has played in his lifetime; in fact it may not be his best.

?If you actually ask my baseball coaches, they?ll probably tell you I was better in baseball than I was football,? said Berrios.

But Berrios was pushed to football.

?I guess the love of the game honestly,? said Berrios. ?There was something about football that attracted me to it. When I was playing baseball, when I was playing basketball I still had a football mindset. I just, I fit in.?

Even still, football is only one part of Berrios? life.

?I?m a huge family guy, really my whole family is,? said Berrios.

Scout $ - Berrios gives the latest

8/5

By Clark.....Recaps being offered by Miami, which he grew up a fan of, and Ohio State. Talks about his conversation with Coach Meyer at FNL & that it's a big offer. Plans on taking all his officials & then making a decision before graduating early. No leader at this point.

Tennessee Fans Make Recruit Braxton Berrios His Own Custom Honey Nut Cheerios Box Graphic

Matt Lombardi

Wide receiver recruit Braxton Berrios, a 4-star prospect from North Carolina, has one of the best Twitter handles (HNYNUT_BERRIOS) in all of sports. And while fan bases from Kentucky, Ohio State, South Carolina and Miami have been working hard on the social media platform to convince Berrios to commit to their respective programs, one Tennessee fan may have outdone them all with one graphic.

Idk about being quicker than gonzo. Sanzenbacher probably, but gonzo had enough quickness and speed to put in serious work in the NFL too

My comment was really engineered towards Dane. He has quickness and lateral agility that #12 didn't.

He has measurables comparable to Gonzo. What is really required is the toughness, mental discipline and defensive recognition that made #11 a master in the slot.

Let's just hope he remains injury free. Either way, I'd love this kid to be in S&G.
