'14 OH ATH Dareian Watkins (Wisconsin signee)

He seems like he is taking a great approach to recruiting, clam, realistic, well thought out and not overly emotional. He seems to be fine with the coaches needing to see more film from the upcoming year. Nice to see him not being offended at this.

Ohio junior Dareian Watkins favoring Illinois
August, 22, 2012
By Jared Shanker | ESPN.com

Depending on which team you ask, Dareian Watkins (Galion, Ohio/Galion) could be a future quarterback, receiver, cornerback, linebacker or safety. But you would be asking a lot of teams, because Watkins is generating interest from just about every program in the Midwest.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect has offers from Illinois and MAC schools Akron, Bowling Green, Ohio and Toledo. Those showing interest include Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

2014 Ohio Athlete Likes Buckeyes
By Michael Chung

Galion, Ohio has itself a football player in young Dareian Watkins.

At 6-2, 192 pounds, Watkins has garnered attention from a number of college programs for the class of 2014. The only Big Ten schools to offer so far have been Illinois and Northwestern, but more are likely to come for the wideout/running back out of Ohio.

Will Ohio State be one of them? He is listed as an Athlete, but can play either quarterback or wide receiver at the high school level. He probably won?t play quarterback at the next level, unless he ends up somewhere like Georgia Tech.

Illinois is the leader and has offered early, but Watkins grew up rooting for Ohio State. He recently made the trip to Northwestern for the Vanderbilt game. The Wildcats made an offer for him to play QB, so if Ohio State wants in on this top Ohio prospect, they better offer soon.

Urban Meyer loves recruiting high school quarterbacks to play all over the field and Watkins is one of those guys. He recently took time to answer questions from The-Ozone.

Ozone: Has Ohio State offered?

Watkins: OSU has not offered.
