I ask because I have no experience in the school system in the USA, let alone, Ohio. Does that mean the competition is weak?

Generally speaking, yes it normally does equal lesser competition. I coached at a small school in Southern Ohio that is D VI. Although it is filled with great kids who loved football it rarely produces next level talent let alone a player on Ohio States level. Now there are a few private "small" schools that play outside of their division and have a much higher talent rate but these tend to be around more populated areas than mine.

Buckeyes Hope to Invade SEC Country for Star 2014 O-lineman
By Michael Chung

They say that football is won in the trenches. Urban Meyer has already gone on record to say that if the defensive line is not good, your team is not good, but what about the other side of the ball?

If the defensive line measures a team?s quality, shouldn?t the inverse also be true? Meyer knows that an outstanding offensive line is vital. That?s why Ohio State is going hard at players like South Carolina?s Donell Stanley.

This Southerner stands at 6-4, 320 pounds and already has offers from Alabama, LSU, Florida, Clemson and South Carolina, just to name a few SEC powers, for the class of 2014. He is part of the SEC recruiting grounds and Meyer will need to steal as many SEC type recruits from the south as he can.

Will he stay in the south and help the SEC continue their dominance or will he trek up north to help the B1G regain their once heralded reputation? You can see for yourself as he recently gave The-Ozone an interview.

Ozone: How did you find out about your offer from Ohio State?

Stanley: Coach Everett Withers came to my school and told me personally.

Stanley enjoys USC-Georgia game

By Eric Guimaraes
Junior OL Donell Stanley of Latta made his second trip this season to USC Saturday and enjoyed the festivities. "It was a lot of fun," said Stanley. "I tailgaited with my uncles and got to watch some of the concert. The game was really exciting and the crowd was loud." Stanley also spoke with other recruits while on the visit as well as offensive line coach Shawn Elliott. He has not scheduled any other trips. "As of right now, I don't have any games planned but when they come up, we'll play it by ear," he said. "I want to go to Clemson, NC State and Alabama." He generally attends game with his uncles. Though he does not have any favorites, Stanley has strong interest in the Gamecocks and Tigers.
