Ohio State is turning up the heat on recent Baylor decommit Leron Black. Buckeyes meeting with the five-star junior this afternoon.

?I just felt like I rushed into the commitment,? said Black. ?I don?t think I took my time to analyze the whole situation. When I first started feeling I might have committed too early I started praying about it and told my mom and dad. I just finally made the decision to tell Baylor that I wanted to take my time and re-open my recruitment.?

Since opening up his recruitment schools like Kentucky, Ohio State, Florida, Memphis, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina State, Louisville, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Duke, and Illinois have all reached out to Black or his coaches along with Baylor.

Also I am big on my religion so I definitely want to see if the coach is a Christian or does something to support Christianity.

Leron Black?s Recruitment Driven By Faith

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- We often see athletes thanking God after a big win or talking about their faith life during the good times, but rarely do we see someone consistently speak about their faith at all times in sports. In our politically correct society, players usually keep their faith to themselves and stay away from constantly talking about God in the media.

Not Leron Black.

A Memphis native, Black makes sure every coach recruiting him knows the most important part of his life. He frequently talks Bible verses with coaches and has in-depth conversations about his beliefs with the schools recruiting him.

?All the schools know I?m big on my faith, so we talk about that a lot and just kind of get a feel for each other,? he said.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Black de-committed from Baylor in January and instantly became oe of the more sought after names in the country. He mentioned Indiana, Florida, OSU, Illinois, Baylor, UConn, N.C. State, and Tennessee as schools on his list at the moment. Indiana recently jumped into the picture, and Black said they have made a strong impression.

?They [Indiana] offered at the end of May, and we?ve been talking every day since,? Black said. ?I?ve been talking to [assistant] coach Kenny Johnson. He?s a really nice guy. I can talk to him about my faith all the time. I love that.?

Black has put up a strong showing at the NBPA Top 100 Camp so far and continues to prove his lofty ranking. His extremely long wingspan, ability to run the floor, high vertical leap, and non-stop motor make him a threat on both sides of the ball. He rebounds at a very high rate and never takes a play off, which are two traits coaches salivate over.

Black said he will be taking his time with the college decision process and has no favorites. He claimed Florida, Illinois, Indiana, and UConn as the schools recruiting him the hardest right now

?I just feel like I did it too early,? he said of his commitment to Baylor. ?I feel like I kind of rushed into my decision to commit, but Baylor is still on my list. I want to take my time and analyze the whole process.?

Indiana among schools making strong push for five-star Leron Black
By Jeff Borzello | College Basketball Writer

Leron Black was one of the more intriguing prospects heading into the spring period, as he had cemented himself as a top-25 recruit and was headed for a big couple of months.

However, he injured his ankle in early April and was forced to the bench for several events. Now that he's somewhat healthy, Black is back to being a matchup problem for most opponents.

?I've been playing pretty good, trying to get back to 100 percent. Playing how I know I can,? Black said. ?I'm just trying to play as hard as I can, help my team win.?

The 6-foot-7 forward from White Station (Tenn.) is ranked No. 22 in the 247 Sports Composite. His absence didn't slow down his recruitment one bit during the spring period.

Indiana, Florida, Ohio State, Illinois, Baylor, Connecticut, North Carolina State, Tennessee and others have all made a move in his process.

The Hoosiers were the most recent offer, extending it in early June.

?We've been talking like, every day since,? Black said. ?I like the coaching staff, I like the program they've got, I like the way they play.?

Assistant coach Kenny Johnson is doing most of the recruiting for Tom Crean's staff.

?He's a nice guy,? Black said. ?I'm big on my faith. I can talk to him about my faith all the time, and I love that. He's a nice person.?

Black is no rookie to the recruiting circuit, as he was once committed to Baylor for 3 1/2 months before reopening the process.

?I just feel like I did it too early,? he said. ?Baylor, they're still going to be one of my top schools. I just wanted to take my time and analyze the whole process.?

Black said Illinois, Florida and Connecticut -- along with Indiana -- are the ones coming at him the hardest.

?I love all the schools that are talking to me,? he said. ?I'm big on my faith, so they're basically talking to me about my faith and trying to get me to have a good feeling with the coaches.?

Black will wait until the fall to take his official visits, and he's not sure which schools he wants to take a closer look at.

?I'm still taking my time, letting the recruiting process take place.?
