'14 TX C Myles Turner (Texas Verbal)

I look at Myles Turner as more of a PF in this OSU offense because of his ability to step away from the basket, as well as the fact he is not particularly stout. If he went to the NBA, he'd be a 4, and I think he could play that position at OSU. Use him much the way OSU used Deshaun Thomas and I think he would produce very similarly on the offensive end, not to mention on the defensive end with his ability to alter shots.

Didn't Myles' dad even make mention that Duke is not out of the equation because they feel as though he could/would play more of a PF role alongside Okafor?

He could be a 4/5 here, get tons of touches both in the post and with his outside shooting, and use his athleticism effectively on the defensive side where he would not necessarily have to guard bulldozer centers all game long. I agree with DZ83CK - I do not see a better option, on paper, than what he has in Columbus, especially considering the mix of upper and underclassmen.

Matta would make great use of Myles' skills and give him the chance to show off all the things he can do offensively - certainly he allowed Jared to go out there and shoot 3s and midrange jumpers regularly - but with the team that Matta would have around Myles (considering the need for a boost in talent at the 5 and the fact that they wouldn't really need more size or talent at the 4 against most teams), I think no question he'd play the bulk of his minutes at the 5. He is a true PF, and would play the 4 in the NBA, but he's a 5 on practically every college team. Not a lot of teams out there regularly play with a true PF alongside a C nowadays - and Duke isn't one of them.

There has been some smoke about Embiid returning ... but there has been some reports discussing about just about every 1 & done guy potentially coming back. I think that is probably the case, Turner is probably waiting to see what Embiid does - if he goes to the draft then Turner most likely picks KU, IMO. If Embiid stays, then I could see him picking Texas, Okie State or OSU instead. I don't see DU or KY as likely options.
