Game Recap

After last nights game in the district semi's, I had to start this thread up for a kid from my hometown. Omari went for 33 and 13 against Berea and he's been dominating more and more as the season goes on.

Currently has an offer from Ohio U. and Detroit Mercy and is hearing heavily from Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and Baylor.

Top 10 in-state kid, will be interesting to see him progress. He'll blow up on the summer circuit as he recently moved later into his 8th grade year from New York.

Go Bears :)

According to Cleveland.com, he'll be transferring to the MacDuffie Prep School in Massachusetts

Article also mentions he was offered by Florida over the weekend.
Interesting article

He would have only had one year of eligibility left if he had stayed at North Royalton and that is the main reason why he is transferring to the Prep Academy in Massachusetts. Played 2 years of high school basketball in New York before coming to North Royalton.

Omari Spellman, not an OH kid originally, right? And he was only in HS in the Buckeye state for what, 2 years? So now that he's moving to MA you probably should change the thread title to him. I didn't get the sense that he was all that interested in OSU even though I think he's a very strong prospect.

He's from Ohio; he moved for a brief time to New York. Both his parents played basketball at YSU so he comes from good stock :) Born and raised a Cleveland kid so hopefully he returns to the state after a sad but expected move. I only say sad since I was hoping he'd take the Bears to a state title soon!

*Also got offers from Iowa and WVU

As a Brecksville-Broadview Heights alum, I'm not too torn up about our neighbors to the west being weakened
