three crystal balls today. one for florida. two for ohio state. since villanova's last cb (5/28), ohio state has seven while florida has two. good news, sure, but until at least the visit to ohio state, i don't much stock in them. many recruiting analysts make early predictions based on air and then flip the day of or the day before the announcement -- that is, when the outcome is more or less a certainty.

Crystal Ball is more than nothing but no real reliable indication of what will happen unless there is a flood of like 10 analysts picking the same program at the same time. The predictions can quickly get stale as time passes. Villanova for Weaver, for instance, the buzz just hasn't been there for him and them lately. I do not know why anyone ever picks foggy, because you can only be wrong with that.

it may not be a flood but instead a puddle, but osu just got its third today. now if jerry meyer or a florida guy cb's weaver to osu...

edit: stupid me. meyer cb'd weaver to osu on 8/1. i even posted that. :bonk:

jerry meyer has cb'd devan dotson (point guard) to florida. kansas has been dominating the predictions, but florida picked up a couple yesterday and today ahead of dotson's official to florida this weekend. this is especially interesting since weaver will be there at the same time. after this weekend, it could be a osu vs. osu battle for weaver, with osu out front.

I can remember when I first looked at Weaver's 247 Profile, there was no mention of USC, Oklahoma State, and possibly even Arizona. A few weeks ago I noticed that USC and Oklahoma State were getting some looks by him. I cannot remember when Arizona entered the picture. Anyhow, I just hope that holt is very careful with him because he scares me a little.
