“Ohio State, we had a good connection; they recruited me at Butler. It started at Butler and when they moved schools, they said it’d be a better opportunity and nicer campus but our relationship has been good; they talk to me everyday. We call everyday and we just talk about everything besides basketball so I feel like our connection is good. They told me to come to their school; just because it’s a big school they want me to see it and they want me to run the show there. So if I go there and I like it enough, I’ll probably commit, maybe, but I just wanna go see the school and see how I feel about it.”
the quiet period permits on-campus visits.I was wondering about that initial statement about a August visit because August is a "Quiet Period" so I do not think we will be hearing much for a while on any recruits..
I am not as worried about USC as I am about Villanova and Florida in this recruitment. The Florida is the week after the visit to Columbus... I am quite surprised that he has not set up an official visit to Villanova as of this date.. However, as he has stated above if he likes the campus he just might commit to Ohio State..If he makes it to the visit. He is visiting USC first and yeah, who knows, especially with a campus/environment like USC coming at you. I would hope Elijah does his due diligence and takes at least a few of his visits, but he seems a bit impressionable.
I just really hope that one of Ayala in 2017 or Weaver in 2018 happens. That is going to be our most likely scenario to having at least a couple ready guards for the 2018-2019 season.
his drop was not fully without cause, though. weaver's performance on the uaa circuit through mid-july was just okay and at times poor. he was an inefficient scorer who was not reliable behind the arc and turned over the ball at a high rate. weaver often attempts the needlessly difficult pass, and he dribbles the ball too high. way too high. of course, i'd be positively thrilled if he committed to ohio state, but i just hope that he focuses on what should be priority no. 1 for a point guard: securing the ball.Scout dropped Weaver all the way down to 92 in their rankings.
And, yes, that's crazy.
