'18 GA PG Will Richardson (Oregon Verbal)

Richardson getting closer to decision

Florida and Georgia have been the two schools in the mix with Richardson early on. Ohio State’s staff has been on him just as long as they are started recruiting him at Butler and haven’t let up one bit since arriving in Columbus. Last month, the Georgia native had Gonzaga, Miami and Oregon join the mix.

...

Ohio State: “I’ve been really close with that staff since they were at Butler. They were one of the first staffs to call me my sophomore year when coaches could start calling. I’ve built more of a relationship with the coaching staff there more than the school.”

...

Richardson said he’s in the process of trimming down his list right now and should be setting up some visits very soon. His current plan is to take four visits before committing, but he’s going to save one just in case he needs another down the road. If all goes well on any particular trip, he’s not opposed to ending his recruitment quicker. It looks like he’ll be committed by the end of September.

RIVALS' REACTION

Richardson didn’t want to put out the schools, but said he has about six schools in mind right now that he’s still considering. After talking to him, the schools we talked about above are probably a safe guess to be the schools he’s still open to. Relationships appear to be a big factor for Richardson along with being given the opportunity to play point guard, so look for Florida, Georgia and Ohio State to be the schools that get the most traction here.

No dates yet but apparently Richardson plans on taking his last two OVs to Ohio St and Florida.

Yet ANOTHER guard that we're competing with Florida for.
Ohio State cannot lose every guard recruit to Florida…can they:huh: Upon further review, I guess we could lose Richardson to Georgia but who knows because according to an article he is supposed to make a decision by the end of September.

Last week the Gonzaga 247 site had Richardson and Nembhard both visiting them this weekend. Now it looks like Nembhard is visiting Gonzaga this weekend and Florida the following weekend, while Richardson is visiting OSU this weekend and Gonzaga the following weekend.

I didn't realize he is transferring to Oak Hill. You can bet Gonzaga has turned their full attention to Richardson after losing out on Nembhard. He has previously taken officials to UGA and Oregon. Not sure if he plans to take a fifth...247 lists the four teams he has/will have taken officials to as "warmer" as well as Alabama so maybe they will get his last visit?

Oregon is really suspicious to me. They had rapists on their hoops team and a scandal for playing guys when they had been kicked out of a prior school over rape allegations and/or were known to be under investigation by the police for rape, and now all of a sudden they get stars and start recruiting like a blue blood. Fran Fraschilla tweeted out a quote today from an SEC FB coach, that the way you get through probation is cheating.
