"I don't even think I'll take my official visits. I want to try to announce my final school by the beginning of September," Zegarowski said.

OHIO STATE: "The new coaching staff came from Butler, and they've been on me for a while, so I have a great relationship with the coaches there. And it's Ohio State. It's an awesome school in the Big Ten, which is a great conference. They have a point guard spot available for when I would be playing, so I know I could play right away."

WHAT'S NEXT?

Look for a decision in the next few weeks. Right now, Zegarowski is focused on resting a minor hip injury he suffered during The Eight tournament in Las Vegas and gearing up for his senior high school season at Tilton Prep School.

RIVALS REACTION

Zegarowski is one of the best shooing point guards in the class, and the school that lands him is getting a reliable guard who can knock down the deep three. I think Creighton has the edge right now since they've been recruiting him the hardest, but don't count out the family ties to Washington. The good news is that fans won't have to wait long for a commitment if he does decide to forego official visits and announce in September.

not sure what to think of a recruit who may not take (any) official visits before committing. i don't know how holtmann plays the recruiting game, but i'm curious about whether this is an offer or an "offer," with a possible stipulation centered on the timeline regarding ayala/weaver/muhammad/cohill/phinisee/etc. my guess is holt wants two ball-handling guards between '17 and '18, but would he take zegarowski as the first commitment? without a visit, though, it appears that creighton or washington is the likely choice.
