'18 OH SG Dane Goodwin (Ohio St. Decommit, Notre Dame Verbal)

Sounds like this might be a situation where Dane was seriously considering other schools and they'd rather him de-commit now so they can "move on" rather than him pull a switcharoo later in the game?

i don't have a clue why goodwin de-committed, so i'm not going to make an assumption about the reason why. i can think of a bunch of possible reasons, with plenty that are perfectly reasonable for both parties. therefore, i'm not going to point a finger at holtmann or goodwin. in the end, i do hope goodwin finds a program where he feels comfortable and valued... and i hope that ends up being ohio state.

I think we might have a good shot at retaining Dane since his dad coaches at a Lutheran affiliated University and he is being recruited by a Catholic affiliated University along with Ohio State:biggrin: I am sure there will be more players for him but there is nothing like playing down the street from home.

I guess it all depends on what the conversation was really about, I've been watching fiim on Dane since he was a Freshman and Thad hit a home run predicting his development the kid is going to be a star in college and a leader he has the type of competitive nature we need in the program...so I for one hope we can get him back in the fold.

I cannot say that I watch lot of video on all recruits but Dane is one recruit that I have watched quite a few videos on and I just enjoy watching him play. As you mentioned, he has developed greatly since his freshman year and I think as the son of a coach he would bring a great attitude and freshness to this program. I love how he can shoot coming off screens while also doing the same off the dribble. I have posted several times that he is my favorite recruit for 2018 and I would hate to lose him.
