Awesome. I will be rooting for that young man no matter where he ends up.

I don't know if he's the greatest need in terms of what he's adding to the roster, but there's very little not to like about this kid in terms of the type of person he is and how he brings it on the court. In many ways I think he's kind of the ideal college PF (in part because his 6'6ish height should ensure he stays in college for 3-4 years). If his outside shot continues to develop (and as of late it's looking pretty solid) I think he's a good bet for an eventual all-conference player, whatever conference he ends up in. I continue to mentally compare him to a Jae'Sean Tate with a couple more inches to work with in terms of height and length and a better-looking stroke from 3-pt land.

I really hope his official visit goes as well as DJ Carton's did. :-)

Watching EJ today a bit, I have to say it is a bit of a challenge to find a worse comparison for him than Jae'sean Tate. I would say he is more of a poor man's Omari Spellman. Of course he has a long way to go to be on the level that Spellman was at this year. EJ may play quite a bit as a small ball 5. The positionless revolution at work perhaps.

An undersized PF whose greatest asset is his relentless motor... oh yeah, Tate is a horrible comparison, lol.

Lest you think I am selling EJ, er, "short"... I noted he's taller than Tate and a better outside shooter. That's gonna make him one heck of a player at the college level. Perimeter skills are gonna take a lot of development before he is a NBA prospect, particularly his ballhandling. That's the one area that Tate was maybe slightly better than EJ in.

EJ is 100% the kind of 3/4/5 type of player that Holtmann wants going forward which is why i believe he is the #1 player on the remaining board he will fit that positionless basketball to a tee and I can hardly wait til Holtmann gets all the personell he needs...

jerry meyer with a crystal ball today for timme to duke. that's in addition to a couple more recent cb's to duke. 247 lists him as a power forward; however, to me, he looks more like a center. the distinction may not matter too much. isaiah stewart certainly is a true center and is overwhelmingly favored to go to duke. throw in wendell moore (small forward) as a near certainty as well as possibly vernon carey (power forward), and duke may not have a need to offer liddell. i really hope they don't. something tells me the offer would turn into a commitment rather quickly. unfortunately, k may go 6-deep for 2019, and we all know how they have no problem taking multiple blue chips at the same position.

and that is why I do not think he is as great of a coach as many others do. Every year he gets multiple top 10 players and he just does not win that consistently IMO

5 titles in the last 28 years. Sorry, but that’s elite. Ask Calipari how easy it is to win with the best talent.

that is why I stated it was IMO give me all of those top 10 players and I could probably win 5 titles in 28 years…that's almost 3 decades with talent up the Ying Yang

Going old school but are we sure this isn’t Jamal Mashburn’s son? Maybe with some added shot blocking.

Inside moves with a little range. Athletic on both ends. Love this kid’s game.
