* Trayce Jackson-Davis, C (Greenwood, Ind.): Davis, the No. 30 overall player in the country and No. 9 center, was offered by Ohio State in October during an unofficial visit. Holtmann was out to see him late last week. Ranked as a center, Jackson-Davis also has the desired skill set to be a face-up forward in Holtmann's system. Holtmann recently said that there's room for classic, back-to-the-basket big men still in the college game, but he's yet to recruit one. Jackson-Davis is a "big", but he's an athletic big who could play center or forward at Ohio State. Indiana is obviously in the mix for the No. 3 player in its own state, as are Butler, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa and others

Five-star Trayce Jackson-Davis is 'wide open' heading into summer

Interest in Trayce Jackson-Davis and his recruitment remains at an all-time high. The state of Indiana's top 2019 prospect is far from a college decision but discussed several heavy suitors and his timetable over the weekend at the Under-18 USA Basketball trials.

...

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Ohio State: “Alonzo Gaffney, he is really good. He isn’t the same position as me so that really helps; he is more of a three, so I think that I could gel and play well with him, kind of like how I do with Keion Brooks. Coach (Chris) Holtmann took his squad from not supposed to having a great year to having one of the best so you can tell he can coach. They have some great players and will have some more talent in the future.”

...

“I will probably take my visits during the football season just because of the atmosphere and to see how crazy the fans are. If it isn’t then, it will probably be during their midnight madness events in the fall,” he said. “I have three right now I want to visit with Indiana, Michigan State and UCLA for sure. I don’t have any dates set yet but I am probably going to take the Indiana one during Hoosier Hysteria.”

continued...

good comments from tjd about osu, but, not unexpectedly, we are not in his current top 3 and probably will remain that way. if he takes all five visits and osu does not secure a wing/post commitment beforehand, my guess is we'll be one his five, though.

We did not make Trayce Jackson Davis' Top 6, somewhat surprisingly.

Indiana, Purdue, Wake Forest, Michigan State, UCLA, Iowa (?!)

Possible that the staff has really focused on EJ Liddell and not so much Trayce over the past couple months but still, I thought we'd make the Top 6, at least. If this were a Top 3 it wouldn't be surprising at all, though, and none of that really matters as I think it's just a matter of time before he picks IU.

FULL COURT PRESS: HIGH SCHOOL PROSPECTS GET ADDED OFFICIAL VISITS, TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS EXCLUDES OSU FROM LIST

A Greenwood, Indiana, native, Jackson-Davis has long been considered a heavy Indiana lean. Iowa, Michigan State and Purdue also cracked Jackson-Davis' top-6 from the Big Ten, with Wake Forest and UCLA the only two non-Big Ten schools on his list.

Jackson-Davis is the second big man in as many weeks to exclude Ohio State from their list of schools they are considering, joining Texas native Drew Timme, who trimmed his list to 10 last week.
