'19 NY PF Max Lorca-Lloyd (Penn Verbal)

interesting offer. schrage tweeted yesterday about last week's recruiting on campus and in nyc. that statement was followed by a winking emoji, which, at least in part, certainly referred to carton's commitment. but i couldn't quite figure out why he would be recruiting in nyc. perhaps this is why.

anyway, i say "interesting" because of the obvious focus on liddell and because lorca-lloyd hasn't exactly dominated this aau season. through 17 games on the nike circuit, he's averaged 5.2 points (36% from the line) and 3.7 rebounds. no offense to mll, but i just can't see the staff taking his verbal until liddell drops us or someone like tjd commits to us. i may be wrong.

It's a weird time to offer a 2019 prospect if you're not ready to accept a commitment from him but I get what you're saying insomuch as I imagine the staff would encourage Maxwell Lorca Lloyd to visit the campus before committing, and if they can get him on an OV it will likely be an OV scheduled after Liddell's.

I do think that with the way Lorca Lloyd runs the floor at a long 6'9, his defensive potential is really high.

Would agree this is an interesting offer. Previous offers from Vandy, UConn, Harvard, Penn, Georgetown, Cal...suggests a high character/IQ kid. Played on the Chilean U18 team if I read that correctly. Put up some big numbers in the FIBA U18 Americas tournament although the competition was iffy at best. Shows a lot of athleticism for a kid his height but this is clearly an offer based on potential rather than production.
