Anyone capable of discussing gas without politics? Anyone?

I filled up on the way to little league yesterday @ $1.88, on the way back it was $2.08 at the same station (I had to laugh). It does though suck to go from "F" on the gauge to "really freaking F" to the tune of $13.50. Fucking bad mileage, gas guzzeling V8.

Did I mention that "I love my truck"

gregorylee--I recently switched from 4.0 V6 Ford Exploder to a V8 GMC Yukon, and amazingly enough, I am getting better gas mileage in the Yukon. Not that it matters, because the Yukon rocks and the Exploder sucks ass, so I would be happy either way.

No, it's not a heavy foot. 4 litre Explorers are pigs. They are as far from aerodynamic as a car can get. She doesn't call it the XBox for nothing. Underpowered vehicles are always gonna drink gas. My old Toyota PU(before Tacomas) had a gutless 2.4L 4 banger and was lucky to get 23mpg.

What year is your Dodge?

it's a 99, I really do love it but as soon as I am done paying for it I really need to buy a little good gas mileage hooptie so that I am not paying $40 a week to go to work and back.

I know what you mean about the underpowered vehicles though, I used to have an s10 blazer with a 2.8. It was slow and got crappy mpg's.

I drive a 1997 F150 5.4 liter 4X4.
I get 15 mpg since most of it is short around town jaunts. I might make it 17MPG on a straight highway run.
The truck is paid for and very reliable, I would not buy a new vehicle even if it got 30MPG.
Gas here, New Orleans, has been going up about 10 cents a gallon a week. We are now at $1.91.
