shocked and optimistic about this update. very glowing remarks about ohio state, especially in comparison to the other two programs. dare say that we might be in the lead right now.

UAA Wednesday: Zach Harvey sees three programs stand out

Finding attention has never been an issue for Zach Harvey since stepping foot onto a high school playing floor. Entering the final month of his travel ball career, the top-50 guard is ready to get down to business though and after a highlight outing on Wednesday, was able to rattle off three programs that have begun to stand out.

...

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Ohio State: “They have just been saying that they need an explosive guy like me to come in and be able to lead the team, get some points on the board and playmake for the team. They said they were going to make me a priority and I appreciate that.

“I like their style of play. I have talked to their head coach (Chris Holtmann) a bit, he is a good dude, and I have talked to (Mike) Schrage a lot, he is a really nice guy, so I think that I am going to go on an official or an unofficial visit there soon to check out the campus and get a feel for it.”

...

WHAT'S NEXT?

In the meantime, Harvey is about ready to take an even greater look at his school list and where to visit. “I don’t have any (visits) set right now but the ones that I do know that I will be taking is to Ohio State and then I am going to plan some other ones soon. I am just waiting for a couple more tournaments to see how the recruiting process goes,” he said. “I am not going to rush into anything but rather wait until these last four tournaments are over. I am planning on narrowing it down after that.”

RIVALS' REACTION

Harvey is the epitome of a new age guard that can play on and off of the basketball but can still produce in whichever role that he is placed into. Against an elite backcourt of Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine on Wednesday, while his KC Run GMC team went down in defeat, Harvey had the wherewithal of when to make the proper pass, how to get open when placed off of the ball and the toughness and energy to sit down and guard all three perimeter positions.

Expect for more scholarship offers to come in for the talented Harvey, especially after his breakthrough performance and on such a high platform that his Wednesday tilt presented. More will enter the mix but it does look as if Ohio State, Oklahoma and Creighton sit as the schools to beat as the month of July heats up.

NY2LA: Four schools prioritize four-star guard Zach Harvey

As the summer continues on, seniors-to-be are starting to dig more into their recruiting processes. One guy that is starting to see who is making him a priority is Zach Harvey.

“Right now who is prioritizing me is Creighton, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Nebraska,” Harvey told 247Sports on Thursday.

All four schools have offered Harvey a scholarship and he’s taken unofficial visits to Creighton, Nebraska and Oklahoma. There are, however, other schools involved in his recruitment.

...

“Right now Ohio State is my only one I’m for sure going on an official,” Harvey said when pressed if he knew of any schools he for sure wanted to see.

“I really like the coach,” Harvey said. “I’m really close with [Mike] Schrage, we talk a lot. They made me a priority and I just want to see the campus and get a feel for it. They seem like a family centered program and a lot of tradition there, so I like that.”

Very interesting. Wonder if Snow thinks the staff might try to push the class to 4 if they could get both of Harvey and Liddell.
I would think that would have to be the case. We would only have one scholarship for next year and I have to think that is set for the big guy…Loveday..

Edit: After doing some further reading regarding Harvey, I just do not see him becoming a Buckeye.

if you're referring to what i think you're referring to, i don't think that's at all a deal-breaker for osu. the criminal complaint was filed in october, osu offered in december, and ho1tmann continued showing interest in harvey after the plea last month. it certainly seems that our staff is more or less okay with him and the situation, which appears to be not much more than some adolescent shenanigans straight from porky's revenge. though i don't know the nitty-gritty details, it's kind of sad that the law had to interject.

or maybe you're referring to something else altogether. anyway, what i think keeps him from becoming a buckeye is class size and timing. unless the roster situation changes, i think ho1tmann sticks at 3 for 2019. i also think the staff is going to wait out liddell... unless, say, tjd wants to be a buckeye.
