Dainja received his Ohio State offer this past week.
“They actually FaceTimed me,” he said. “They talked about my game a little bit and Coach Holtmann offered. An assistant coach texted me congratulations. It felt pretty good.
“I think Ohio State is a good program. I have a friend who committed there, D.J. Carton. They are a good program in the Big Ten. I know how the Big Ten plays. I feel like if I go there, I feel like they would help me change my body. I feel like that can help me take it to the next level.”
Asked about some of his top offers, Dainja said, “I have a few. It’s still early in the process. Once August comes, I will cut my list down. Right now, I’m just taking unofficial and official visits to schools that have the most interest to me.
“Ohio State will be my first official visit. Last year, I went to Baylor, Illinois, Northwestern, Marquette and Minnesota.”
Asked what he hopes to see at Ohio State, he said, “Just good players and good teammates, good people to be around. I’ll want to see the weight room and hear about nutrition. That means a lot to me. The strength and conditioning coach will be good to talk to and see how he can transition my body.”
