C Zed "Finger Guns" Key (transfer to Dayton)

He averaged 11 rebounds a game at the Iolani Classic recently. His teammate Andre Curbelo, a PG going to Illinois next season, put up some extremely gaudy numbers there--and Curbelo is a good one, but it does make wonder about the level of comp.

I do agree with you on Zed... I think the "key" with Key, so to speak, is that high floor. I think the staff wanted a player that would be here for multiple seasons so they can start building a foundation in the post that isn't just Diallo and a rotation of guys who are more 3/4s, but they also recognized that they are probably going to need a guy who can actually do well enough as a frosh next season to play okay D inside, rebound well, and score a few post-up points/facilitate from the post. And I think Key can probably do that. Maybe not at a high level, but maybe high enough.

Time will tell if that was the right way to go. I do think the staff has already shown they are making efforts to get a higher ceiling big in the 2021 class, and if they can do that then they might be in really good shape going forward with the frontcourt. But next season could be kind of shaky there; kind of picture us starting Sueing, Liddell, and Young and I think that could be really good in several ways but possibly very lacking in a couple areas, really need one of Key or Diallo ready to be a viable inside guy.

I also know there are a contingent of trolls primed and ready to hate on Key as byproduct of their displeasure with Holtmann's 2020 recruiting. Here's hoping Key is solid enough to keep them relatively quiet.
