'20 OH C Zach Loveday (Baylor Verbal)

Pretty long 11 Warriors article on Loveday here with 3 videos

He will probably visit Ohio State for the ttun football game. From the videos that I watched, I think he will only be at Ohio State for 1 year unless they change the one and done rule. Still needs to put on some pounds but he is still pretty young. 4.0 GPA so no knock there.

From this recruiting article on LGHL comes the following regarding Loveday
However, the other two to three spots in the class are a bit more complicated. Ohio State would love to land in-state big man Zach Loveday, but he seems much more interested in Louisville than he does in Ohio State. Perhaps another great season from the Buckeyes changes that, but right now I don’t see it.

Behind him, Jaemyn Brakefield and Ben Carlson both have Buckeye interest, but seem likely to go to Kentucky in Brakefield’s case, or head to the west coast in Carlson’s. Again, a great season would certainly be a big sell for them, and as big men go, I think if Ohio State lands one in 2020, it’ll be one of the three mentioned here. My guess right now is Loveday.
I am not sure how much stock to put in this article because the writer talks like Ohio State has 3-4 scholarships for 2020 when we have only 2 unless someone transfers.

I know it is just across the river but I wish he would have stayed in Ohio
from an osu recruiting standpoint, i certainly agree that it would be better for loveday to stay in ohio. from a player development standpoint, though, the move certainly had to be done. he was not going to develop like a blue chip talent could/should while facing the teams on gallia academy's schedule. the only thing curious to me is the timing. however, by transferring to an out-of-state program, he can play immediately. this would not be the case if he had instead transferred to, say, a catholic school in cincy or upstate to spire. and at least loveday isn't going to a prep program far away. i'd be more worried if montverde in florida were the destination prior to a college commitment.

Good point per usual regarding player development and going out of state so he would not have to sit out. I am not absolutely sure but I think he might have been able to go to spire because they are not a member of the OHSAA or At least they do not have to abide by all of the rules. Just hope we can call him in because when Wesson is a senior we are going to need help. Not sure about LeDee.

I have watched this kid play two games this season and the first thing I said was he needed to transfer to Huntington Prep. At Gallia playing in the conference he does, the only way teams can compete with him down low is to pound the crap out of him and that is exactly what they do. He gets hammered. Wasn't going to help his game one bit. Not to mention his high school coach has to be incompetent from the games I have witnessed, which are multiple as I watched him last year too. The head coach does not utilize the kid at all really. It is unreal how dumb the coach has to be.

At Prep he will be matched up with other Bigs and not get hammered as much and will also not get tripled every time he does touch it.
