I haven't watched him in full game so I may be off base, but it would seem he has every trick in the bag handle wise and the boy is a laser from deep, but based off of his tape I would say the next step for him is to do more facilitating and learn how to burn teams based on how it looks like teams defense gravitates to him... no knock at all as he is young and even with that said he's still ahead of the curve. cold blooded

have not heard much about Dominiq's recruiting. Wondering if he is making unofficial visits to other schools.. I would think that if Scoonie stays here so will Dominiq… maybe not but is a strange that his name has not been in the print media.

I am pretty sure that Ohio State could not bring Penn on board without giving him a scholarship. I think it would be against NCAA "rules" to try and bring him on as a non-scholarship player and have Scoonie bankroll his education. If he comes to Ohio State, which I am doubting, he would have to count against the max 13 number.

It feels like he is being underrated, I still think they find a way to bring him in, kid is a floor general and has the competetive nature of his father.

I do not believe this is correct. Because one's father/mother works for the university or even directly in the program, I don't think that means they must be on scholarship if they want to play a sport.

If he's good enough for a scholarship then that's what he should get.

Well, I guess I stand corrected. However, my point was not about who would be paying for the scholarship but more about the number of scholarship players that a basketball team can have. I thought that number was 13 not counting walk-ons. It makes me wonder if a kid wanted to go to a certain college but the college was maxed out at the number 13 if the parents were willing to pay could that kid be put on the roster. That almost sounds like a walk-on without being counted against the scholarship limits.

The article that you referenced regarding the McDermott situation at Creighton does not say anything about the fact that it is allowed because the employee (head basketball coach) of Creighton is paying for the scholarship. I really do not understand it because it almost sounds like a well-to-do booster could pay for a recruit's education if the sport was maxed out on their scholarship limits and I am talking about any sport.
