OK so we have room for two more folks.

Nutty,

It takes a bit of time, however once a person is taken, he is off the board. There are nine scoring positions and nine backup positions. You can trade or pickup free agents.

You will need to rank a bunch of players if we have 14 players (heck there will be 42 starting WR's alone, then you need to figure a backup or two for each team... so there will prob. be 70 WR's taken in the draft... this means you will need to rank that many WR's or take based on yahoo's rankings). This will require a lot of reseach having a league this big.

I've never been in a league this big, but it should be a lot of fun... when injuries occur somebody is really going to be in trouble!!

Thanks for the info gbear. I guess my only other question is whether or not this is a real time draft. Do we all have to be online at the time? Is the pick announced and then the next guy in line goes and so forth or is it based on your rankings and is done automatically? I'm not trying to make it more difficult than it has to be, I'm just curious. Thanks

Yea, it does help if everyone is online together. It does go live, with one person picking and on the clock. As soon as he selects a player the next person goes on the clock. The problem comes in when a person is not there to select. They will pick for you based on your list (or on default list if you don't set one) and will not pick until the clock is gone. That just makes everyone that does show up have to wait even longer.

That site will automatically generate a picking order just before the draft so we don't know who gets the first pick. Then once the order is set, the picks will go 1-12 then 12-1 so the last team to pick gets 2 picks right in a row. Ideally you would want to be somewhere in the middle of the picking order but that is just me.

Andy hit the nail on the head... it will be a live draft, and there is a time limit... if you can not make the draft, then you can set your list and yahoo will pick the highest person left on the list per turn... again, this will make the others online wait the whole time.

I think we are going to have the draft on a Saterday mornig in the middle of August (Saterday morning should allow the highest amount of folks to take part)...

Thanks a lot Andy, you answered all the questions I had(some I had not asked yet). I'm looking forward to getting the link so I can set up my draft board. I've never been in a league like this. It should be a lot of fun.

I got your email, and sent you the link w/ the league ID and password. Hopefully you can get it to the other folks that are on the list for this league.

So far myself and Killernut are the only two who have jumped through the hoops and joined the league. Clarity, maybe you can help Hubs, get the info to the other players (don't have all the players email).

YAHOO IS VERY BACKED UP AS FAR AS LIVE DRAFTS ARE CONCERNED... THE ONLY TIME WE COULD GET WAS AUG. 9 at 4:20pm est.

Hope you all can attend the live draft... sorry we can not change the date (we tried to get Aug. 16, however the whole day was full, and 4:20 on the 9th was the only open time for that day)... if you can not attend the live draft on that date at that time, you will need to rank your draft and let the computer pick for you... or if you don't like that you can not be a part of the league... sorry we can not be flexable on the draft time (guess this is what happens when you do a free league... the expensive leagues get most of the server space...).

I don't know how long the draft takes, I'm guessing it will take two and a half to three hours to totally complete the draft, assumeing we don't have a bunch of folks doing the auto draft and letting the computer pick for them (under that situation, the computer takes the whole time allotment for each pick, so it is a lot slower)...

Killernut, can folks do a live draft for a few rounds, then let the computer auto pick for them if they need to leave half way through the draft?

Or you can go to yahoo.com, (sign in, or create a yahoo account... it is free), click on sports from the home page, then click on fantacy football, at the bottom of the page is a link for the pay league and below it is a link for the free league), type in the league ID and password (after clicking on join a private league), and you are in... if will ask for your team name (make it the same as your buckeyeplant user name)...
