Come on, gbear. Are you forgetting about the Mighty Redhawks of Miami U taking on the Indiana State Sycamores, which is actually the first game to kickoff this year?

VaTech - the points are too much to resist
Easy on Miami... Y'all are going to become huge Miami fans on 9/4. I'll take Va Tech.

Since the game is in Maryland, I think VaTech will cover the spread. USC starts seasons slow and finishes big, while VaTech starts seasons strong and then completely folds in the second half of the season.

VaTech's record during the first halves and second halves of the last three seasons:

2001:
6-0, 2-4 (8-4 overall)
2002:
7-0, 3-4 ... including 4 losses in 5 games (10-4 overall)
2003:
6-0, 2-5 (8-5 overall)

Composite records of the last three seasons:

First half-season: 19-0
Second half-season: 7-13

Hey gbear- do you still have the final standings from last year? I don't think my record was very good last year, but I am pretty sure I OWNED Mili

And also, thanks for doing this again. I had a lot of fun with it last year.

Best of luck to everyone.

Mili's statistic's are correct, but VaTech also usually plays patsies during the early season, and finishes up against teams like Miami, VA, BC, etc. It's an excellent theory, but I'm pretty sure the schedule helps that theory.
